13. Favour

... Wearily I opened my eyes ...

-and looked into another two huge eyes.

The moment I wanted to scream, the person held their hands in front of my mouth.

"Pshh. It's fine, I just wanted to ask you something... Like, a favour maybe..."

With widened eyes, I had to realise who the person with these huge glasses on their forehead could only be.
That crazy scientist-woman, Hange.

I looked around me, saw Christa sleeping peacefully and heard snoring.
I frowned.
"You're lucky you didn't wake them up, Hange."

Hange with a regretful expression:
"Yeah..."

Suddenly she grabbed my hand and pulled me out. It was probably 3 in the morning.

Expectedly I looked at her and noticed her excited facial expression.
"So, what is it?", I asked.

Hange, nervously looking down.
"Well, it's a favour..."

Me:
"..."

Hange:
"A few months ago, before Eren was kidnapped, I had two babies..."

I looked at her in empathy:
"Hange, no... oh, I'm so sorry..."

Wait, Eren got kidnapped?

Hange, sobbing:
"No, it's okay, (Y/N)... I- I almost forgot about them. Bean and Sawney..."
Her eyes filled with tears.

I neared her and embraced her.
"I'm so sorry..."

Hange:
"Okay, now please just listen. After I lost them, I had nobody to experiment on..."
I stared at her completely confused.
"... but I know, that Eren's a titan-shifter, so I'd like to experiment on him. I'm allowed to, but nobody's with me and I'm so alone and Levi always says that he doesn't want to. You know him, a boring old man.", she sighed.

Me:
"..."

Hange:
"So could you please ask him to do this with me? Maybe he'll say 'yes', when you ask him, since both of you spend a lot of time together."
Red flushed into my cheeks.

Me flustered:
"I- uh..."

"Oh great, because Erwin said that Levi's allowed to do whatever he wants and that 'I can't force anybody' and blah blah.", she looked up to the ceiling and rolled her eyes in annoyance.

Me:
"... what? ..."

Hange pulled me into a hug:
"Thank you so much, you're the best!", she said and turned to leave.
She waved at me, who stood in the middle of the corridor, and then Hange winked a last time.

Speechless, I went back into the room, looked down to my hands and touched my face.
Maybe I am the one, who's going crazy...

To wake up in the morning was pure torture. I felt as if I hadn't slept for days and swore to myself, that I'll make up the missing sleep later.
