You parted it, shutting your eyes close and stormed out as fast as you were able to.

The wet grass blades rustled in the wind, their deep green whizzing carelessly, while all your feet were able to do was carry you through the nightly streets.
Even paths.
Their small stones seemed like glistening palettes under the glimmering lights above, being created by the torches supposed to provide passing humans with a way.

With your breath going fast, you were running away.
Of course, that's all you were able to do, after being encountered with a sudden slap in the face, otherwise you might've started crying.
And not, because Mark had hurt you in any form, or because you felt scared of him, you didn't really care at all, if you were honest.

It was just the fact of how vulnerable you were, that frustrated you immensely.
And if you cried on top of that, you might've started crying even more in the failed attempt to finally stop, which would just worsen everything much more.

Somehow any of what happened didn't matter, your thoughts brought you back to him for some reason, as you couldn't help but think of him in this ridiculously stupid situation.
The raven haired man, who you had wished to see in the last moment.

Rainy weather was the one greeting you and you were the host of the coldness awaiting your arrival.
Your dress had encountered the blotchy drops of muddy water provided by the large puddles hindering you on proceeding on the path you had chosen, though you were not sure where you were even running to.

You had literally nowhere to go, since that's how you felt at the very brink of endurance at this point.
You weren't hurt for Mark slapping you in the face, you didn't care, it was simply just too much at once.
These people started laughing and the noise boomed in your head, while you attempted to understand why you weren't simply and easily confronting this damn ruckus.

All you probably should've done, was kick Mark, because you were more than certainly able to.
And you sheerly felt embarrassed, because now you couldn't return to the castle anymore.

Back there, you felt overwhelmed, since the first reaction to this man hurting you, was looking out for Levi in between the other gawkers.
Didn't this bluntly display how much you missed him, how despite of you saying you wouldn't go back to him, you still unconsciously and involuntary did, by solely waiting for him to come and get you out of there?
Because in the end, he turned out to be right again.

Levi was right from the beginning, you shouldn't have accepted Mark's offer, you should've stayed away from this man, because Levi had warned you several times.
And despite of you knowing how much he disliked Mark, you didn't listen to Levi and did whatever you wanted yet again.

You had made so many mistakes in the past, simply by disobeying Levi.
And you felt more than just ashamed about it, because afterwards he always became the one, who made things right and came to save you.

You asked yourself what Levi would've done in your situation and knew immediately what it was. He wouldn't have behaved like a coward like you.
He would've stayed and returned the slap, striking Mark with a brisk kick.

And in the grand halls you had secretly hoped for Levi to take you with himself, despite of you knowing that this was bad and wrong and so much more.

That's because Levi never chased after someone.

And this was exactly what you wanted to be so badly.

Though you simply weren't.
But whenever his grey hues locked with yours along with a certain click, it never ceased to amaze you and take your breath away, just like your own pace in this moment, which you lost too fast already.
