AN: So Hello! I haven't been posting and I am sorry about that but I have moved onto campus for school and it has been a bit chaotic. So I am back now and hopefully I can post more but with school starting up it will be difficult.

AN about story: This is a bit of an over used trope but it is one of my favorites so I thought I would give me own take on it!

Lena's POV

I am pacing back and forth in my office with the invite in hand.

Reading the names over and over again.

With the pacing I hadn't heard the knock at my door or Kara enter the room.

My pacing stops when I finally hear Kara say "Le? Are you okay?"

I glance up at her and my panic pauses momentarily when I see her smiling with worry glimmering behind her crystal blue eyes.

I give her a watery smile softly at her and say "I have to admit Miss Danvers I have been better"

She quickly moves up to me and pulls me into a warm hug.

It has taken me a while to get used to how physical Kara get's. It is certainly a big difference from the coldness I grew up in but I have to admit it is nice.

I hug back gripping the back of her sweater tightly.

She pulls away after a minute and leads me too my white coach as she says "What is going on? Is there anything I can do?"

I shake my head softly and say "My ex boy friend is getting married. This is the invite for a week in Hawaii. I have a none existent love life so if I end up going I will look like a loner but if I don't show up that isn't good for L-Corp's relationship with his company. He just wants to rub it in my face that he is doing better then me, so if I don't show up it is proving his point. I am screwed either way."

I feel Kara's hand squeeze mine lightly as she says "Well maybe I can help you out"

I look at her with raised eyebrows as I say "What do you mean?"

"Well it seems like you have to go... So why don't I tag along as your fake girlfriend. We already know each other better then anyone else, don't tell Alex I said that, so no one will be able to catch us. And that way you don't seem lonely and we have trip to Hawaii together. Free booze, free food, and I will be there to help you talk shit about your ex quietly in the corner."

I rub my chin in thought. It would be good to not seem like a loner. And Kara is the only person I could probably deal with for a week straight.

I finally nod and say "Okay but don't you have work? And you know your other job?" hinting toward her being the capped heroine that protects the city.

I had known ever since I meet both of them up close but I waited for her to tell me. I was pissed it took her so long to finally tell me but she explained and after a little time I realized I couldn't lose her as a friend. And we went right back to being closer then ever.

Kara still has a supportive smile on her lips as she says "Alex and John have been yelling at me too take a vacation for months. If they really need me I am about 10 seconds away from National City so it isn't a problem, but they can handle everything that isn't a major emergency."

I nod my understanding and say "Okay, but only if you are sure!"

She chuckles softly and says "Lena I get to spend a week with my best friend exploring a new place. I couldn't ask for a better vacation. And we can show off that your ex is a loser for leaving you" I laugh loudly at this.
