AN: Okay so if you haven't seen the new A League of Their Own show you need to watch it, it's gay and amazing and so good I can't tell you enough good things about it. I love the original movie (it is my favorite movie of all time) and I highly recommend watching that as well.

BUTTTTTT the show has inspired me to write this chapter

Also it's kinda similar to a different chapter but also very different

Kara's POV

June 1st, 2022

I walk into the DEO and smile when I see the pride flags being hung around the office.

Pride month the best time of year.

I walk up to Alex with a box behind my back.

I tap her on her shoulder and when my sister spins around I hand her the box as I say "HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!"

She smiles and grabs a box I didn't see until now and passes it to me. My eyes lit up at the sight of a box of Nonan's potstickers that were dyed rainbow and even spotted one that was colored the shades of the Pansexual pride flag.

I pull her into a big hug.

This is the first year both of us are out of the closet and both of us are in relationships.

Lena and I are both fresh into the relationship versus Alex and her newly engaged fiance Sam have been together for almost 3 years.

The DEO is full of proud queer people who love the safe space that we have created.

There has been a rise in outward hate crimes toward gay people and specifically people of color and minorities.

I hear a commotion with my super hearing so I give Alex another squeeze before taking off into the sky.

I fly past L-Corp and pause for two seconds to knock on the glass and wave at Lena before taking off to what sounds like a robbery.

It only takes a couple of minutes to stop the robbery and I start flying back to L-Corp to eat lunch with Le when I see a group of protestors standing outside a shop I don't recognize.

I land softly and finally see the signs the protestors were holding.

I am disgusted instantly by the hate not only directed toward LGBTQ+ people but multiple minority groups.

"Enough!" I yell but their shouts don't stop and the hate-filled words drown me out as they move forward.

I turn back and see people in the shop. It was a really well-known queer hangout spot. There were posters about events all throughout Pride month and the rest of the years and lots of pride flags.

The crowd was pushing forward more so I squat down and pick up the ground to create a barrier that they can't get around.

There are shouts of anger and protests but I turn and run into the shop.

"Supergirl! Thank god you are here! They have been here for over an hour and slowly got rowdier and rowdier." She steps aside and reveals a teenager not much older than Ruby with a larder gash on her forehead. "They started throwing rocks. We took cover but the first one hit Carson here"

I glance at the teenager who had a taller girl standing putting pressure on the wound.

"Are you okay?" I ask as I lean in and inspect the gash. She will need stitches but it won't be that bad.

"Yah yah you know the woman every queer person is in love with is standing over me and is worried about me. And I am standing here babbling while my girl- friend. Girl who is a friend watches me actively bleed. And I think I need stitches cause I am feeling a bit woozy"
