AN: Okay first off  I will be gone from the 16th to the 22nd and away from my computer so I most likely will not be updating. That being said once again sorry about the sporadic updates I am still working on other parts of a couple of different stories but I want them to be good when I post them.

DISCLAIMER THIS IS NOT A STUDENTXTEACHER CHAPTER

I am also aware I said I probably wasn't going to post and there is a whole ass essay I should be working on but this seems like more fun

I AM DONE WITH THE SCHOOL FOR THE SUMMER AND I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY

Kara's POV

I sit at my desk tapping my pen lightly against my cheek as I look through the papers I am grading.

Jeez, some of these kids have a lot of talent for writing especially...

*knock knock

I turn my head to my door to see Lora standing in my doorway.

I smile softly at her and say "What can I do for you, Lora?"

The short 2nd-grader smiles sheepishly up at me and says "My mom is running a bit late today and I know you grade papers after school. I was wondering if I could hang out in here with you. Standing outside in the cold sounds the opposite of pleasant."

I motion for her to take her normal seat at her desk as I say "Of course grab a seat,"

She nods and moves into the classroom before taking her normal seat pulling out the thick book she has been reading for the last three days.

I know the kids amazing. She reads at a high school level and speaks with better grammar than most of the staff here do. Which considering this is one of the top private schools in the world is a bit shocking.

She hums softly as she reads along.

I return to my work for another 10 minutes before I hear Lora say "Is there anything I can do to help you grade? I feel bad staying in your classroom when you aren't working"

I smile at my student and say "It's alright, I am grading your assignments from last week so there isn't much you can do there but I appreciate the offer"

The raven-haired girl nods smiling before continuing to read.

A minute later my classroom phone rings.

I smile and hear Lora snicker as I pick up the phone and say "Danvers meat you shop you stab 'em we slab 'em"  (One of my teachers legit answered her phone this way during class)

My best friend Nia and the receptionist for the office snickers and says "That's a new one Kara I like it better than the one from last week."

"Thank you," I say with a laugh "but besides that what's up?"

"Oh yeah, a Ms. Luthor is here looking for her daughter," Nia says going right back to business.

I recognize the last name immediately and say "Yeah her daughter is in my class just send her my way please"

"Will do. See you tonight for game night" before she hangs up.

I look over at Lori who is glancing at me. "Seems like your mom is heading our way. It should only take her a minute"

Lori nods and happily turns back to her book.

3 minutes later our door is thrown open and a woman comes rushing in.

My eyes widen and a blush rises on my cheeks as I blatantly stare at the beautiful raven-haired woman.

Her hair was tied back in a high ponytail and she was in an incredibly expensive-looking pantsuit and shimmering green eyes.

She smiles widely at Lori as she says "Hi honey so sorry I am late. There was this big meeting with my board members and an almost hostile takeover that I had to shut down you know how it is. What do I owe you for the late pick-up?"

Lori puts her book away as she ponders "A trip to Barnes & Noble and a puppy"

"Yes on the Barnes & Noble but I will not be getting you a puppy till Christmas. How about we order pizza and watch tangled tonight instead?"

My student happily nods her approval as she runs up to her mom and gives her a big bear hug. "Sounds great mom. Mom this is Ms. Danvers, Ms. Danvers this is my mom."

I am still slightly in shock from her beauty but I shake it off immediately and stand as I offer her my hand and say "Please, Ms. Luthor, call me Kara"

"Only if you insist but please call me Lena." She says while giving me a heart-stopping smile.

"It is nice to meet you, Lena," I say matching her smile "It has been a pleasure having Lori in my class this year."

"Well she loves your class and I am finally understanding why she loves it so much," She says as we are still shaking each other's hands.

"I am starting to see where Lori gets her smarts. She has a wonderful mother to look up to."

"Ha, you flatter me, Kara."

"You deserve all the flattery, Lena."

"Just ask for her number mom. Ms. Danvers is Bi and obviously into you."

My eyes widen and I immediately blush from my cheeks to my toes.

"Um Lori, honey that isn't as easy as that..." She continues rambling reasons about why she couldn't ask for my number.

I clear my throat and say "I mean if you are ever going to be late you could just text me and I can have Lori hang out in here with me until you are available to pick her up"

"That would be a big help actually" She grabs a paper and quickly scribbles a number down on it before she says "and well since you are doing that would you be willing to let me treat you to dinner something along those lines?"
