On the Second Day of Christmas...

AN: Hey so I completely didn't have an idea for what to write today and I probably bit off more then I can chew with trying to post a chapter every day but I sure as hell am going to try. 

This is an old chapter from a different one shot book that I forgot was supercorp and needed to transfer to this book so here it is. 

THE PROMPT:Kate Cane and Kara are best friends but Lena gets jealous of their friend ship.

On the second day of Christmas your author gave to you 2 oblivious gays

Kara's POV
'OMG KATE YOU DIDN'T!!' I say while dying of laughter. I almost fell off of the couch that Kate and I are currently sitting on.

Kate smacks my arm but I barely feel it as I continue laughing.

Kate gives me a fierce glare as she says 'In my defense Alice had just murdered my step mother and I had just wrapped my head around the whole multiverse thing so my brain thought Alice was just playing some wicked trick on me.'

I slowly start breathing normally as I have to wipe a stray tear from under my eye I say 'okay I get your logic Kate but still that was a little extreme.'

Kate rolls her eyes and says 'What have you been up too? Any major differences for you?'

I let out a small sigh as I say 'Not much, Lex running the DEO has been really weird but other-'

My sentence is interrupted by a knock on the door to my office.

Before I could ask who it was the door opens and Lena walks in saying 'Kara I am craving a Big Bell-' she cuts her self short when she sees Kate sitting next to me on the couch before continuing 'oh I am sorry. I didn't realize I was interrupting. I can come back-'

Kate stands up as do I as I say 'No no Lena. I was interviewing Kate here for an article and we got off track so we must have run long. We can go to lunch just give me a couple of minutes to grab my stuff.'

Kate smiles at me and gives me a big hug before saying ' It was nice to see you, Kara, we should hang out again soon. When we aren't working' I smile back and nod as I hold open the door to my office for me.

She walks out after giving a polite smile and wave in Lena's direction.

Lena smile back before turning to me and saying 'How do you know Kate Cane?' As her small falls into a concerned frown.

I smile thinking about my good friend and say 'I met Kate a while back when I was doing research on Gotham for an article. We have been friends since.'

Lena glances in the direction where the other CEO walked out 'oh makes sense. Something about her though Kara. I just don't trust her'

I laugh loudly and say 'Lena she is great! You just need to get to know her better'

—————Time skip(two weeks later)————
Kate pants heavily next to me as we finish our 6th mile and slow to a walking pace. Kate puts her hands on her hips to help with her breathing as she says 'It is infuriating that you don't get tired' in between pants.

I chuckle and say 'Hey don't blame me for being born on a different planet. Let's go to this cafe and get some food. '

Kate just continues to glare at me as we walk toward the cafe.

She lifts the end of her muscle tank top and wipes the sweat from her brow.
