Evelyn's POV

"Alright girls! We have one new player and one returning." Cheney says and I raise an eyebrow. "And we also have an announcement afterwards."

"Ooh this is interesting." I whisper as I put my arm arm around Mal and resting it on the chair.

"Everyone welcome Catarina Macario." Cheney says and we all clap.

"Rookie!" I yell as I clap.

"You're still the baby!" Pinoe says and I huff as I cross my arms.

"Im not the baby."

"Now a returning player, Sydney Leroux."

"OH MY GOD YES! YES! YES!" I yell as I run towards Syd.

"Kid come on you just saw me at your wedding." She says.

"I don't care. I'm so happy you're back!" I squeal as I jump onto her.

"I brought trouble." Syd says and I look at the door.

"ROUX!! Cassius! Dibs on taking a nap with them!" I say.

"Everyone take a seat. Ash and Ali have a special announcement." Cheney says.

"There's no easy way of saying this, but we've been keeping a secret from all of you." Ali says.

Please don't say retirement.

"We're parents!" Ash says and my jaw drops.

"I'm sorry, did I miss something?" Sonny asks.

"I speak for my girlfriend and all of us here when I say we need an explanation." Kelley says.

"We adopted a little girl. She's right outside, her name is Autumn, she's seven, and she's very shy." Ali says.

"If any of you make her cry I will murder you." Ash says sending us all a glare.

"Triple A's! You guys are batteries! A battery pack." Sonny says and I snort.

"Can we meet her now?" Mal asks and I nod in agreement.

Ali's POV

"Sweetie these are your aunts." I whisper and she looks up at me.

"All of them?" She whispers and I nod.

"I promise you they're all nice." I say.

Autumn walks over to Ash and hides behind her as she grabs onto Ash's sweater and pokes her head from the side.

"There's a lot." Autumn whispers.

"I'm Alex, this is my daughter Charlie."

"You'll be seeing her a lot because she plays with us back home." Ash says.

"What's your name?"

"Autumn."

"Well it's very nice to meet you." Al says and I smile.

"Who's that?" Autumn asks Ash and I.

"Who baby?"

"Her." She says pointing towards Evelyn.

Mal's POV

"Babe, you're going to make her throw up." I say as she continues to throw Roux into the air.

"No I'm not isn't that right Roux?"

"Nope." Roux says and I shake my head.

"It's you and me bubba." I tell Julieta.

"We don't need sissy." She whispers and I laugh.

"That's rude." Ev says and I shrug.

"Girls, there's someone who wants to meet you." Ali says and I nod.

"Oh yes! I've been waiting to meet her." Ev says.

"Yeah me too." I say as J hops off my lap and sits next to me.

"Autumn this is Evelyn and Mal." Ali says and I smile.

"Hi I'm Mal." I say softly and wave my hand.

"I'm Evelyn, but you can call me Ev. It's very nice to meet you."

"Hi." Autumn says softly as she hides behind Ali.

"She's adorable." I say and Ali smiles.

"Did you know that I'm also adopted." Ev says.

"Really?" Autumn asks as she peaks her head out more from behind Ali.

"Yep. Just like you, I also have two moms!"

"Woah, really?"

"Yep, my moms are actually over there sitting next to Ashlyn." Ev says pointing to the other side of the room.

"That's cool! Can we get some donuts?" Autumn asks Ev.

"I mean I'm in, but you gotta ask Ash and Ali first. We can talk about anything you want."

"Can I go?" Autumn asks Ali.

"Sure, just be safe." Ali says.

"We'll grab donuts and then we will come back." Ev says.

"That's the first time she's really talked more than a sentence." Ali says as she sits down next to me.

"She's got a way with kids." I say smiling.

"Someone's heart is swooning." Ali teases and I laugh.

"How can I not? She's perfect." I say.

"I'm so happy for you two, I'm so proud. You two are so brave."

"You and Ash taught us that. Ev said it and I'll say it again, if it weren't for you two doing what you did. Showing us and so many more how brave of you guys to come out with the platform you guys have. You guys gave other people the courage to be themselves. Because trust me, I don't think we'd ever come out."

"There will always be people who will judge, but you can't let that stop you." Ali says patting my back.

"Nothing can stop us." I whisper.

"Mal and Evelyn. A power duo. You guys have also gave other young girls to be brave, to embrace who they are, that comfort to talk to you. You both have inspired many."

"It's only the beginning."

"I know, and I know you both will do such great things to help many people."

Evelyn's POV

"So Autumn, what do you want to talk about?" I ask the little girl.

"Do your moms love you?" She asks.

"They do, they've loved me even when I didn't love myself." I say.

"Ash and Ali said they love me. How do I know I love them?" She asks and I hum.

"Well how do they make you feel?"

"Happy, my heart feels warm, I feel safe. Does that mean I love them? What is love?"

"Love is beautiful. But I'm no good at explaining what love is to a kid, I didn't know what love was when I was small. But with the right people, I learned love."

"You talk too much." She says and I laugh.

"Yeah I do. Come on let's go back with Ash and Ali."

"How do you know when to call them moms?"

"Well it was easy for me, it took a lot more time with one of them than the other. You call them moms when you want and when you're ready."

"Okay."

"Okay. You can come to me whenever you want. Now really let's get you back to Ash and Ali."
