Evelyn's POV

"Alright ladies go take a seat" A man tells us

"Come on kiddo" Tobin says as she pulls me onto the stage where we take our seats. Reporters all seated waiting for us.

"Okay let's start" the man says again

"Alex what are your thoughts on Evelyn she's only seventeen are you worried she could take your starting spot?"

"She's amazing and if she were to take my spot I wouldn't be mad she has obviously put effort and energy into getting here. She puts all her time into practicing and we all try to help her in any way so if she does take my spot I'd be glad to know it's her and I know she does have the potential to do so. She deserves to have a starting spot even if it is mine I'd be more than happy" Alex says and I smile

"Christen! It was recently reported that you adopted two kids is that right?"

Crap. How did that get out there.

Christen squeezes my hand from under the table and I looked at her and smiled as I squeezed her hand.

"Yes that's correct. I adopted a seventeen year old and a four year old, they are both sisters and I didn't want them to be separated" Chris says and I smile "Actually Evelyn here is whom I adopted"

"Evelyn how does it feel to be adopted by Christen Press?"

"Um good?" Fuck. Fuck. I'm horrible at this "Since the beginning of my first camp I went to Christen has been a mother figure to me and now just being adopted along with my sister is a blessing"

"Thank you" the lady says and I nod

"Evelyn have you always been in need of a home?" Someone else asks

"Um no? My parents um"

"That's enough of that question!" The guy that is in charge says. Bless your soul.

"This is for Evelyn.. You're Hispanic right?" This guy in his mid twenties? says

"Yes" I say

"So then why don't you play for Mexico? That is YOUR country"

"Are you serious right now?! Get him out of here!" The girls yell

"I'm a proud American citizen and I'm also a proud Mexican, I love my culture I'll never forget it, but you're practically saying to how do people say 'go back to your country' that's disrespectful! I was born and raised in the U.S I've faced this all my life I'd go to a store talking spanish to my mother who may she Rest In Peace and people would tell us to talk english? Sorry is english the American language? I didn't get this scar for nothing! I got this scar to protect MY family! MY mother!" I yell as I lift my shirt revealing a large scar that is barely covered by my bra

"Ev" Mal whispers and I snap out of my little trance

"I'm a proud American citizen and thankfully to my parents I am a citizen of Mexico as well. There will always be racism in the world and people like me who get these kind of comments on a daily basis well you just have to be proud of who you are and where you came from. To answer your question as to why I don't play for Mexico, they talked to me and said I should play for the U.S than with them because they preferred for me to go far than to never get much of an opportunity in Mexico as well as playing for the U.S has always been a dream of mine. Thank you" I say

"Mommy!"

"Why isn't she with the others?" I ask Chris and she shrugs

"Hi baby say hello to everyone" Chris says

"Hello"

"I want to go" I whisper to Alex and she smiles sadly at me

"Almost then after I'll buy you food how does that sound?"

"Ice cream?" I ask

"You're a literal kid but yes ice cream" she says and I smile and nod

Christen's POV

"You okay pumpkin?" I ask Ev and she smiles

"Yeah I'm fine just a little tired, I'm going to sit with Mal and I'll see you at twitter headquarters" She says and I nod

"I love you" I say a I kiss her forehead

"I love you too mom" she says then walks towards Mal

"Mommy where's Toby?"

"She's with aunt Ash" I say as I ruffle her hair

"Stop mommy! My hair!"

"Baby J!" Ash yells as she grab Julieta from me

"Mommy help!" She squeals

"I'm a shark and I'm going to eat you!" Ash yells

"You silly aunt Ashy" Julieta says as she pats Ash's cheeks

"You're so cute baby J" Ash says and I smile

"Where's big Preath baby? Not tiny Preath baby?" Kelley asks and I furrow my eyebrows

"I'm sorry what?" I ask

"Big Preath baby is baby E and tiny Preath baby is baby J come on Chris focus! Now where is big Preath baby?"

"With Mal also Preath?"

"You know Chris come on! Yours and Tobin's shipna- oh forget it I'm gonna go find baby E aka big Preath baby" Kelley says as she walks away

"Hey babe" Tobin says as she pecks my lips

"Hi Tobin" I say

"What's up?"

"Do you know what Preath is?" I ask as I turn to face her

"Um no why?"

"Just asking" I say and she shrugs

"Preath is your guys' shipname!" Sonnett yells

"Oh well then that would mean that my kids are Tobin and I's kids?"

"Well that was pretty much what Kelley was saying" Moe says and I furrow my eyebrows "You can't disagree they are Tobin's kids too you guys act like a little family"

"What?" I ask

"Toby!" Julieta yells

"Oh Chris just look" Alex says as she motions to Ash, Tobin and Julieta

"My princess! Come to Toby!" Tobin yells

"Auntie Ashy I go with Toby now"

"Never!" Ash yells

"Ashlyn give me my little princess" Tobin says

"Fine go with Toby" Ash says as she hands Julieta to Tobin

"Tobin is the only person who she doesn't call 'auntie' she just calls her Toby" Julie says

"Tickles!" Tobin yells

"No tickles! No!" Julieta yells but Tobin lifts Julieta into the air and blows raspberries onto her tummy making her laugh

"Toby it tickles! Stop it Toby!" Julieta yells as she laughs

"Aren't they just adorable" Alex says and I smile

"Very" I say as I look at them both. After five minutes of them goofing off they then come towards me

"Mommy, Toby said to let's come on!" Julieta says as she's still placed on Tobin's hip

"I said to let's go princess" Tobin says and I giggle

"That!"

"Okay let's go to the bus" I say as I walk with them

"You okay?" Tobin asks me and I smile as she holds Julieta

"I'm perfect"
