Mal's POV

"Sing me a song before you go please? You have a really nice voice"

"Mal I-"

"No it's okay" I say as I stand up and wrap my arms around her "You don't have to come on let's go"

"Pick a song" she says

"No you choose" I say and she nods

"It's a little upbeat is that fine? Or do you want a more slow song?" She asks

"Whatever you pick is fine" I say and she connects her phone to my speaker and she extends her arms towards me as I take her hands and she pulls me up from the bed "Wait can I record this? I'll put my phone over on the dresser I won't post it I just want to hear your voice when you're not with me"

"Sure" she says after thinking about it for a bit so I quickly place my phone on the dresser and the song starts

Ev quickly pecks my lips before she starts singing again and we continue to dance together.

"Thank you" I mumble as I hug her

"Anything for you monkey" she says and kisses my forehead

"Do you really have to go?" I ask as I cling onto Ev

"Yes I really do I have school and work but I'll see you soon that's if I get called up for the World Cup" Ev mumbles

"Hey you'll make it" I say as I kiss her nose

"I'm seventeen I feel like I'm too young to even make it I mean the team is so talented and here I am little seventeen year old me wishing I can go to the World Cup" she whispers

"You know someone I know always says you have to believe in yourself always believe in yourself" I say and she playfully rolls her eyes

"That's not fair you're quoting me" she mumbles as she holds me

"You're amazing baba you're so talented! I mean come on you beat Kelley at the beep test! Dawn even said to take your shirt off! She never says that! You scored from taking a corner kick which by the way I'm still very impressed with the way you did that" I say as I cup her face "You have so much potential and I wish you could see what we all see.. what I see"

"I just don't feel like I'm good enough" she says placing me on the bed

"I feel like that has a double meaning" I say as we sit on the bed

"I feel like I'm not good enough for the team like I said I'm seventeen from a state that gets confused with Washington D.C which isn't even a state! We're only known because Seattle is known like who the heck knows where Wenatchee is and I don't think I'm good enough for you I mean come on Mal you could have anyone and you chose me why" she says looking at her hands

"Where is this coming from baba?" I ask

"It's been on my mind lately I don't know" she says as she keeps looking down at her hands

"I love you" I say as I say finally say the words I've been dying to say for a while. She looks up at me with her eyes watery. I cup her face and kiss her softly

"I love you too" she says as we pull apart

"You're good enough for the team, you're perfect to me I chose you and there isn't anyone else I want" I say as I kiss her softly once again "I love you and you have no idea how much I do"

"SHE'S GOING TO BE LATE FOR HER FLIGHT! LET'S GO!"

"Rose and her perfect timing" I mumble which makes Ev laugh lightly "Come on"

"Wait" she says and pulls me into her as she kisses me one more time "Thank you"

"I want you to realize just how amazing you are" I say as I smile "You big softie"

"I'm not soft!"

"Whatever you say baba"

Evelyn's POV

"Nessa I'm going to murder you! Forget drowning you! IM MURDERING YOU!" I whisper yell into the phone

"Okay so maybe this is the second time I forget I'm sorry I was watching a movie with Daisy"

"Step on it Vanessa Marie!"

"You don't have to use the middle name geez"

"I wouldn't have used it if you were actually here to pick me up on time!" I yell

"I'm almost there calm yourself down"

"Okay fine call me when you're here" I sigh as I sit down and scroll through my phone

"Hi" I hear someone say and I look up to see a little girl and a boy

"Oh hi" I say with a smile as I put my phone in my pocket

"You're Evelyn aren't you" The little boy says

"You play soccer!" The little girl says and I chuckle as I nod

"There you are! Stop running away and leave the girl alone"

"It's fine really" I say

"Can we take a picture with you?"

"Of course" I say and their mom smiles as she takes a picture

"I'm so sorry they ran away from me" Her mom says

"It's okay really" I say

"Gracias" she says as I shake her hand

"De nada" I say with a smile "Wait! I have a shirt for you guys!" Thank god for having my shirt in my duffel bag "Here I'll sign it"

"Thanks!" They both say and I smile

"Now go with your mom" I say and they nod as they run towards their mom

"Well well well look who's famous" I hear from behind me

"Well well well look who forgot about me again" I glare at Nessa

"I said I was sorry! Come on let's get you home" Nessa says and I nod "You look exhausted did you and Mal have fun" she says wiggling her eyebrows

"No you perv we went out to eat with Rose and we watched movies" I say

"Lame!"

"Shut up now take me home I'm exhausted"

"Your wish is my command princess" she says extending her hand to me

"Gross now take me home before I regret not murdering you" 

"Yeah yeah I get it come on let's get you home"
