Chapter 80

Evelyn's POV

First game after months. Will I be as confident as I was? Definitely not, will I even get minutes in the game?

"I can see you're worrying little one, take a deep breath" Alyssa says

"Do you think I'll get some minutes?" I ask

"Vlatko is smart enough I'm sure he'll give you minutes on the field" Becky says

"And if he doesn't?" I ask and they look at each other

"Then I guess he's not smart enough?" Alyssa says but is more like a question

"Babe! Rose is making fun of me!" Mal yells

"No I'm not! It was Sonnett!" Rose yells back and I turn around

"Kelley get your girlfriend off of mine!"

"She's not my responsibility! She's Becky's!" Kelley says and I groan

"No I believe you are my responsibility, Emily is Ali's responsibility" Becky says

"Emily Sonnett get off Mal!" Ali yells

I walk over to Mal and pick her up from the floor.

"You okay monkey?" I ask and she smiles

"I'm okay now that you're here" she says and kisses me

"That's gross. Stop it!"

"Leave us alone Sonny or else I'll beat you up" I say and send her a glare

"Okay okay! I was kidding! Geez" she says walking away

"Alright girls lets head out!" Someone says from outside the locker room

"Go get em mom" I whisper and she smiles

"I love you, now go" she says kissing my temple

"Come on Mal" I say grabbing her hand and walking out to the field

"If you guys don't want to be public let go of your hands kids" Ash says making me sigh

"Hey, one day baba" Mal whispers kissing my hand as she walks with Sonnett

"Chin up kiddo like she said one day" Ash says ruffling my hair

"I guess" I mumble

"So are you ready to meet Mal's parents tomorrow?" Alex asks putting her arm over my shoulder

"I'm terrified, nervous, scared, anxious" I say as I wipe my now sweaty hands on my shorts

"You'll be okay" Ash says giving my shoulders a log squeeze

"Game time!" Pinoe yells patting my head and running out of the tunnel.

We walked out of the tunnel, fans cheering already, the crowd was insane but awesome. This is what I missed and I love this environment.

I waved to everyone I could, this brought and brings me so much joy and happiness.

I sat in between Alex and Ash as we watched the game start. Halfway through I was getting bored to say the least. It was an intense game but still no goals in the first half.

It was the 51st minute now I think.

"HEY! WHAT THE HELL!" I yell as I quickly stand from the bench and walk over to the sideline.

"I need you to go back and sit down"

"ARE YOU BLI-"

"Come on kid let's go sit down" Ash whispers in my ear
