One month later

Mal's POV

I was walking around the lobby probably looking like a lost puppy but I was waiting for Lindsey to get here. I was rooming with Evelyn again, no surprise but ever since I found out she has a girlfriend it all just became difficult. A little too difficult. I distanced myself from her. I had to.

"Mal!" Lindsey yells

"Meep!"

"Meep!"

"Come on let's go to my room" I say

"Who are you rooming with?"

"Evelyn"

"Ah the crush I see now" Lindsey says and I sigh

"The hopeless crush" I mumble

"Don't mope over her Mal"

"Easier said than done" I say and open the door to my room

"Oh hey Lindsey" Evelyn says

"Hi Ev what are you doing with that guitar?"

"Just playing a song I wrote" Evelyn says and my eyes widened

"Can I hear it?" I ask

"I'd rather not um I'm going to Christen's room see you bye Lindsey"

"Bye Ev"

"She's been acting very odd" I say

"Probably because you distanced yourself" Lindsey says

"No no I mean like actually odd Tobin messaged me the other day said she and Alex had gone down to visit her but she just didn't interact much with them she was quiet"

"Okay now that's weird she's always very bubbly and happy"

"Exactly Linds!" I yell

"You could always ask Christen"

"I don't think that's a wise choice to do after the past month that I distanced myself from Evelyn" I say

"Come on let's go talk to her"

Christen's POV

"Hi baby how are you feeling?" I ask Evelyn

"I'm garbage" She says and puts a bag over her head

"Stop saying that and take that bag off your head or you'll suffocate yourself"

"Good!" She yells and I get up to take the bag off her head

"Come on let's lay down" I say and she follows me as we lay on the bed

"Why didn't they love me?" She asks me

"Who?" I ask confused

"My parents my family why didn't they accept me for who I am"

"Some people just aren't as opened minded they think it's weird but it's not okay? I love you" I say and kiss her head "How are you dealing with the breakup?"

"Oh I'm good that's not bothering me we ended it on good terms I told you we're still friends Chris" She says

"Yeah I know but still I want to know how you're doing"

"I'm fine mom just the whole thing of my parents bothers me I mean they show up to my house and yell at me and you know what? I'd still do anything for them because I still love them they're my blood"

"You have us now you have me" I say as she rests her head on my lap and I run my fingers through her hair "I love you"

"Thanks mom" she says and I smile
