Chapter 25

Evelyn's POV

"USA HERE I COME! GRANDMA HERE I COME!" I yell happily as I grab my suitcases to get all my stuff ready

"Yeah I'll tell her yeah okay we'll be there in a bit okay bye" I hear Mal say

"Mal we leave today!" I yell and she grabs my hands "Yes?"

"Christen wants to talk to you come on let's go to her room" She says and I furrow my eyebrows

"Did she say about what?" I ask and she shakes her head "Oh okay but she better make it fast I want to leave soon"

We walked towards Christen and Tobin's room, but as we got there I saw everyone outside in the hallway.

"Hi guys!" I say with a smile

"Go knock" Mal says and I furrow my eyebrows but I do as told

"You're not coming inside with me?" I ask and she shakes her head

"Hi baby come in" Christen says and I go inside as Tobin, Becky and Ali leave the room

"What's up? Mal said you wanted to talk to me but can we make this quick I have to pack my stuff that way we can leave and see grandma"

"Sit down" she says as she pats the bed

"What's going on? Wait why are you crying?" I ask as I see her eyes red and puffy then look around the room and see tissues everywhere

"Remember last week when we talked about if something happened it happens for a reason?"

"Yeah" I say slowly and nodding my head slowly

"Look baby um there's something I need to tell you" she says

"No" I say as I shake my head "No"

"Gramps called he um said that well grandma isn't here with us anymore" she says as I shake my head

Mal's POV

"No! No! No! NOOO!" I hear screaming from inside the room and I start crying as I know it's my Ev

"Hey come here it's okay" Julie says as she wraps me in a hug and I sob

"NOOOOO!" We all hear from outside the room "NOOO!"

"It's breaking my heart" I sob out

"You have to be strong for her kid"

"I can't"

"You're going to have to try we all have to be strong for them both" Alex says and I finally look up as I wipe my tears

"Open the door please Tobin" I say but she doesn't do anything "OPEN IT!"

"Mal calm down"

"I can't calm down! My girlfriend is sobbing her heart out!" I yell

"Take a deep breath Mal then Tobin will open the door" Carli says so I do as told and take a couple deep breathes "Better?"

"I'm good" I say and Tobin opens the door

"It can't be true! NO! It can't be true!" I hear Ev yell and I run inside to see Ev practically hitting Christen's chest with her fists

"E-" I was about to speak but Christen shakes her head 'Don't' she mouths as she pleads with her eyes

"It's a dream right? Mom? It's a nightmare? Say it isn't so" Ev says and I close my eyes as I hold back the tears

"I'm sorry baby but it's true" Christen says and I feel a knot in my throat

"No" Ev whispers and Christen looks up to the ceiling so her tears don't drop I mean I get it she has to be strong but she should let out her emotions too. "No"

"Go" Tobin whispers and I nod

"Ev" I whisper and she turns around

"Mal" she whispers and jumps on me making me stumble but I gain my balance

"I'm sorry" I say and she hides her face in my neck "Cry it's okay"

Evelyn's POV

"Bottoms up!" I yell as I take a swig of the beer "Fuck everything"

Vision blurry, stuffy nose, throat burning.

"Some sad music should help" I slur as I turn the speaker on and somehow manage to play music

"Beer number eight what a party" I mumble as I stumble across the room "FUCK THIS!"

Christen's POV

"Where's Evelyn?" I ask the girls

"Uhh she said she was going on a walk"

"And all of you let her!" I yell as I get up from bed

"FUCK THIS!" We all hear from a room

"I need the key to open the door!" I yell

"I gave it to her she said she had forgotten hers in our room" Mal says and I rub my temple

"Tobin can you go grab my key from the room please and hurry"

"I got it!"

I immediately grabbed the key and opened the door. I ran inside but when I got there I saw the room a complete mess, a pack of beer, clothes on the floor, and empty bottles everywhere.

"Where the hell did she get beer!" I yell as I run to Evelyn who's sitting on the floor sobbing as she drinks more beer "Put the bottle down"

"Make it stop" she says as she looks up at me

"I wish I could but I can't I know it hurts baby but I'm right here" I say as I try to grab the bottle from her hand

"NO! Don't take my bottle away from me!" She yells and as much as I didn't want her to hate me I had to grab it from her

"I have to" I say as I gave it to Julie

"NO! Give me back my beer!" She yells as she gets up to try and grab another one

"I'm sorry I can't" I hear Mal say as she leaves the room, Julie and Becky right behind her to help.

"I'm sorry but we can't let you do that" Ash says as she and Alyssa hold her in place

"Look at me look at my eyes" I say as they let her go.

"It's my only escape!"

"No it's not pumpkin, I get it hurts it's hurting me too but don't rely on beer as an escape from this or from anything, look at me look around you, you are not alone pumpkin" I say as I cup her face in my hands

"I want it to stop" she sobs out as she point to her heart then hugs me

"Let's get you to my room baby you need a nap, how does that sound?" I ask

"Okay" she whispers

"I got her" Ash says as she picks up Evelyn and I smile weakly at her as she starts walking to my room

"And I got you" Tobin says as she grabs my hand and pulls me into her "I got you don't worry, I got you and her. I promise I'll do anything in my power to help you both"

"Thank you"

"Come on let's get you to your room" she says as she picks me up

"Okay" I whisper
