Sweet Little Serena (Original)

Chapter 133

"Clary?" Serena called as she limped into the redhead's room with Alec's help.

"Serena. By the angel."

Clary hugged her.

"Are you sure you're going to be ok?" Alec questioned as they pulled apart.

"Yeah, we'll be ok," Serena assured him as she kissed him on the cheek and Alec left.

"Alright, little sister, you've got a lot of explaining to do," Serena said as Clary helped her to the bed, still getting used to walking again.

"Uh, didn't Alec and Izzy tell you what happened?" Clary asked trying to avoid talking about it again.

"No. I asked them not to because Ithuriel told me that you and you alone had to tell me. All I know is that Jace is the Owl and Lilith is the one controlling him."

Clary instantly burst into tears as she cried on Serena's shoulder.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry it's all my fault. Jace...is all my fault," she sobbed, and Serena began humming as she shushed her, her calming magic washing over the girl.

Clary was still half sobbing when Serena moved to wipe the tears from her face. "Clary, it's ok. You can tell me."

"Jace died."

Her heart stopped.

"That night at La-Lake Lyn. Valentine killed him."

Serena held Clary's face gently as she pushed her hair behind her ears. "Clary, did you make the wish to Raziel?"

The girl nodded as she broke down in sobs. "It made him vulnerable to Lilith's possession. It's my fault."

Protection. That's what Ithuriel meant. Jace didn't have the protection of the angels that Serena had been given when he came back to life.

"Clary. Clary. Look at me," she urged, and the girl's chest heaved as her face was smeared in snot and tears. "I would've done the exact same thing. And you saved my brother; you saved my twin's life. He is literally my other half. So, thank you."

And Clary went back to crying on Serena's shoulder.

Serena let her cry for a few more minutes and when her sobs became whimpers, she moved Clary's face to face her.

"Clary, do you know what else Ithuriel told me before I woke up?"

She girl shook her head as Serena's thumbs wiped under her eyes.

"He told me, that we already have everything we need to save Jace from Lilith."

"We can save him?"

"Yup. I may not know how right now, but, I know we can and that's all I need."

A shudder of relief flowed through Clary before a fire message appeared in Serena's hands and her eyes widened.

"Portal me to Idris," she said Clary.

"What?"

"I need a Portal to Idris NOW!"
