The next day, Cassie drove them a block away from the university, where Hoseok and Jungkook pulled on their empty backpacks they had just bought at a nearby store and climbed out of the limo.

Taehyung leaned out the window. "He's definitely in the smart people classes, which is on the second floor. I was in there once and thats what all the posters said."

"Thanks Tae, we'll be right back." Jungkook shut the door and the two hurried down the sidewalk to the school.

It was nine in the morning, they decided to come late so they wouldn't risk Namjoon's parents seeing them when they dropped him off.

A security guard stood at the entrance, eyeing them as they walked closer.

Jungkook hoped he wasn't going to ask them for their student IDs.

He picked up his pace a little. "Come on, Jae! You're always making me late!"

Hoseok huffed and hurried too. "Oh whatever, Ms. Soren doesn't care."

They hurried past the guard and entered the building with silent sighs of relief.

"Stairs." Jungkook grabbed Hoseok's sleeve and yanked him over.

They quickly climbed the steps, and Jungkook was relieved there weren't many students in the halls, not that they were sparing the two boys any looks.

"So now what?" Hoseok whispered. "Do we just peek into every window until we find him? What if he was sick today? What if the class is out on a field trip or something? What if he doesn't want to talk to us?"

"Of course he would want to talk to us." Jungkook said, even though he had the exact same fears. "You start on the end of the hallway and I'll do this one, we'll just glance through the window quick and see if he's in any of these rooms."

"And if he's not?"

"Then we'll burn that bridge when we get to it."

Hoseok saluted him and hurried off.

Jungkook's heart pounded but he ignored it, looking into the window of the first room.

The students were all facing away from him, scribbling down notes from the whiteboard in front of the room.

He looked around quick, but nobody looked like Namjoon, and he hurried to the next one.

They searched each room, passing each other in the hall, and whenever a student came up the stairs they quickly leaned against the wall, acting immersed in a phone call.

Jungkook checked the last window on his side and his heart sank when he didn't see Namjoon there either.

"Hobi, anything?" He jogged down the hall to the other boy, who was peeking into the last window.

Hoseok looked at him, sadly shaking his head.

"What? How- okay, let's recheck, we must have missed him, maybe he had his head down or something." Jungkook could feel the hopelessness creeping in.

"What if he's on the first floor? There's like a billion classrooms down there." Hoseok worried.

"It's okay," Jungkook lied. "We'll find him. We won't stop until-"

"Jungkook? Hoseok?"

Both boys whipped around, seeing Namjoon standing there.

The student blinked. "What are you two doing here?"
