"Well, camp is set up." Dick sighed as he piled up spare firewood.

"Why are we here?" Jason asked.

"We werre tld to bnd. (We were told to bond.)" Tim mumbled through a mouthful of granola and trail mix.

"Ridiculous if you ask me." Damian sat down on a log.

"Can you guys at least try to enjoy yourselves?" The four boys looked at Cassandra, Barbara, Stephanie and Kate who had finished setting up the multiple tents.

"Think of it as a vacation." Kate shrugged and went to the cars to get the bags.

That night after dinner, everyone was trying to decide what to do. It was to early to sleep and to late for anything else. "So.. scary stories?" Dick asked.

"I guess I have one." Kate raised her hand. "This forest here, a long time ago was a place of death." Kate began her story, the fire crackling in the background. "Mainly for tests of courages or camping like us. There are many instances of people coming in, and coming out years later or never at all. Those who've made it out say at night they hear whispers of the dead, the chilling hands of a ghost and the eyes of a reaper watching their every move."

"Where'd you hear that from?" Cassie asked.

"Just online. Saw stories when I booked the area." Kate explained.

"So, you think a ghost is here?" Tim asked.

"Who knows, but 20 years ago there were those bodies from a serial killing up behind that mountain gorge." Kate said and everyone turned around to look at the mentioned mountain gorge, with the moon shining above it.

"Heard about that. They were all young girls. Some asshole brought them here for some date or anniversary, then left them for dead or killed them for another girl. Or something like that." Jason said.

"Why don't we do a test of courage thing?" Dick asked smiling.

Somehow, Dick managed to convince everyone this was a good idea. "Why alone?" Tim asked.

"Why? Scared?" Jason asked.

"It's a dark mountain, what if we fall?!" Tim argued.

"We all have the needed skills to survive a mere fall." Damian countered and Tim sighed.

"We're only going up to 20 feet forward and coming back. We each have a flare gun and a flashlight." Dick smiled. "Odd man out then Rock Paper Scissors. Loser goes first."
Tim lost.

I wandered around the forest, it was always quiet. Sometimes it was loud, either with a couple trying to get some alone time, or on holidays and vacation where people come camp, the annoying days with tests of courage and very rarely the nice days when people come to pay their respects to those who were killed here.

The killings were from a long time ago and have stopped only a mere 20 years ago. A lot of people came to pay their respects but less people come now. Many of the souls have passed on after seeing their families and their burial. On the other hand, I was pushed into the ocean, and my parents died a while ago. The animals avoid me because they're scared. After all, I'm a ghostly spirit and I have the appearance of a human.
