I sat by myself on the bus, towards the back. My whole class was full of excitement, since we were on our way to the beach. It was a nice thing the school decided to do for the seniors since Finals were over, and Graduation was next week. This particular beach also had a small indoor water park attached to it, that had a slide that you could go on and land in the ocean. It sounded like a place full of magnificent memories, especially since our families were allowed to come along, and everyone was excited to see the brothers of THE Timothy Drake, Bruce Wayne's third ward. So, yes, besides that I was the only one who didn't want to be here. My aunt said going on this trip with friends would be better than staying at home all day. Only 2 problems, I don't have any close friends, and... I had Aqua-phobia. In other words, a fear of water...

I used to love the water. My dad had a hobby of fishing and mom loved nature, camping, hiking and all that. Growing up with parents like those, of course I grew to love water as well. One day, the three of us decided to go on a weekend fishing trip. We would go out into the sea, and do some diving, fishing and that kind of stuff. We heard the weather wasn't going to be that good, but there was only about a 30% chance of rain, so we thought it'd be okay. We were wrong.
Even though we weren't that far from shore, the waves were rough, and big. Winds made it hard to see, and with lighting and thunder all around, it was hard to keep calm. I lost my parents that day, I was only 10. I was lucky, and ended up washing up on the beach and the coast guard found me and took me to a hospital. Since then, I've been reluctant to go back in the water.
My aunt and uncle got custody of me after that day. They understood about my water trauma, so they never took me to the beach or to the pool much, but they still took me hiking and camping as a way of feeling connected to my parents. It was great since my uncle always bragged he was a boy scout and stuff but would conveniently forget how to put up a tent or start a fire.

"Alright, everyone make sure you have your things!" The teacher yelled so the whole bus could hear her. "Remember to stay safe, don't go anywhere by yourself, and have fun seniors!" she said and the whole bus cheered. The buses next to us, who probably had a similar speech cheered as well. I grabbed my bag and made sure I had my phone before getting off the bus. I stood on the side watching hoards of people either running to the beach, taking their jackets or other clothes off as they go, revealing their swim suits. Others going into the water park, either to change or to ride the slides. I decided to go into the water park. My aunt packed me sunscreen, extra clothes, a swim suit, and a few towels. I've been to water parks before, however, I stayed in the shallow pools usually where only children play, and stay away from the big slides and other fun stuff.
I decided I might as well change so I don't stick out like a sore thumb, and just stay away from big crowds and the pools. If I accidentally slip, I'm not confident that I won't panic and just forget how to swim. I went to the snack stand and bought a soda and sat down, watching people play and jump into the pools.
"Lookie here." I sighed knowing that voice anywhere. I glanced up to see it was Olivia. She was a cheerleader at the school, and behind her, I could see her posse with her.
"What do you want Olivia?" I asked.
"Well, if it isn't (Y/n). What's the matter, afraid of a little water?" she asked, swishing around a water bottle of hers. I rolled my eyes, and continued drinking my soda.
