Damian x Deaf Reader

I smiled as Damian was eating the dinner I had made. "How is it?" I signed to Damian.

"Great." he replied back.

"Really?" I asked and he nodded.

He finished his plate of food and placed it into my sink. Damian came over to me, holding my hand and pulling me to the couch in my living room. He played a random movie, and made sure to put on the subtitles for me to read.

I was deaf, I was born deaf. I have hearing aids, but I don't wear them at home. I have a boyfriend, who is no other than the one and only, Damian Wayne. My parent's don't know, and his father and brothers don't know either. Damian learned sign language for me, and when he is over at my place, I reply to him and we talk only in sign, but there are days when he doesn't sign and I just practice my lip reading.

I felt a hand on my head and glanced up at Damian and he was staring down at me.

"What?" I signed, asking him.

"Nothing." he smiled and turned my head back to the tv.

It was time for Damian to leave, since he had to get home and change for his nightly activities. "Be careful." I signed to him.

"I will, sweet dreams beloved." he said to me before giving me a quick kiss and left my apartment.

"I swear, I saw Damian leaving this place at least 3 times." Dick said looking at the apartment in front of him. It was a modest living area. Shopping mall was close, so was a few parks, and a couple schools and bars.

"Leave the kid alone, Dick." Jason spoke over the comms.

"Why do you think he's been there? A girl?" Barbara asked over the comms.

"...Let's check it out." Jason proposed.

"You just said to leave it alone." Tim replied.

"Yeah, but if it is a girl, I wanna see what kind of girl snatched up that little demons heart." Jason said.

"Well I think that- " Dick was cut off by Damian.

"Sorry I'm late." Damian spoke.

"No problem D." Dick easily replied.

"Routine patrol. Seems like a quite night." Barbara said.

"Don't jinx us." Jason grumbled.

I ended up staying up late, watching adorable animal videos on my phone. I worked with animals in a rescue, which is actually where Damain and I met. He came in one day and proudly announced he was going to take all the animals we had. Honestly it was a very interesting first encounter. Of course we didn't give him all our rescues, but he did end up volunteering with us, and made sure to find every rescue a loving home. 

I smiled turning my head to look at the picture of Damian and I holding Sally, the first dog he helped find a home. Sally was licking all over his face, and I was laughing on the side. The new family rescuing sally was kind enough to let us take a good bye photo with Sally before they left. 

I saw the time on my phone, and it was getting late. I decided it was time to finally sleep. I put my phone down and charged it, and made myself comfortable under my blankets. Before I tried to sleep, I turned on my AC, since it was getting close to summer.

As I tried to sleep, my mind was flooded of plans and different types of dates Damian and I could have, most included water sports, or making our own ice cream or something silly like that.

The next day, when I woke up, it was nearly 12 in the afternoon. I climbed out of my bed, even though I really didn't want to.

I checked my phone seeing I had no emails or texts from anyone, so I went to my kitchen to prepare lunch. I was lucky I had the day off, or I would've been extremely late.

AS I made my lunch, I felt my phone buzz. I frowned and looked at my phone and it was notifying me that someone was at my door. I clicked the video feed and saw it was 3 guys outside my door. I didn't recognize any of them, but they did seem similar in some ways to Damian. I quickly sent Damian a text asking him to come over as soon as he could. I made my way to the door and opened the door. One of them smiled at me, and began talking, I was able to guess what he was saying. Hi, and his name was Dick something. The other 2 then began talking and I learned the names of Tim and Jason.

I sighed and signed for them to come in. They all looked at me surprised and looked at each other before coming in. I closed the door behind them as they made themselves comfortable.

Dick, Jason and Tim looked at each other. Between the 3 of them, they did learn sign language, but only briefly and haven't put it to good use and have practically forgotten how to use it. "Demon's friend is deaf?" Jason asked.

"I guess so." Tim said looking at her. She had made her way back into the kitchen.

"Well that's no fun." Jason just sighed, knowing that now, he wasn't able to effectively question her about the little demon.

"Do any of you guys sign?" Dick asked.

"Nope." Jason said.

"Barely." Tim replied.

"Same." Dick sighed. The girl later came back with 3 cans of soda. She placed it in front of 3 brothers.

I stared at the 3 men in front of me. I got up and went into my room, and put in my hearing aid, so it would be easier. I went back outside, and the 3 of them looked at me. "So, why are you here?" I asked them. My voice sounded so foreign to me, the only voice I found comforting was Damian's and my parents.

"We wanted to meet Damian's friend." the one, who I think was Tim answered.

"And you guys are?" I asked, sitting down.

"His brothers." Dick answered.

"Well, am I what you expected?" I asked smiling as they all shook their heads.

10 minutes later, we were still a bit awkward with each other. I knew that Damian hadn't told his family he had a girlfriend, so I didn't want to be the one to tell them. Right now, we were just playing heads up. I didn't like the awkwardness, so I thought a game would be fun, it did help, but not for long.

Suddenly the door to my apartment opened, surprising me, and Damian's voice called out to me. He turned to all of us and I waved hi to him. He looked at his 3 brothers, then came to sit by me and began signing. Some things didn't make sense since he was going too fast, but I could make out the gist, most of it asking if I was alright, or if they asked anything weird, especially Jason. I smiled a bit at his rambling concern. I grabbed his hands to make him stop and he stared at me. I signed to him, that I was okay.

"So, care to introduce us?" I heard Jason ask.

I looked at Damian and he looked at me. "Your choice." I told him through sign and he nodded, holding my hand.

Damian proceeded to explain our relationship to his brothers. They had a few questions, but they were cool with it. 

"Are you going to tell Bruce and Alfred?" Tim asked.

"Pennyworth already knows." Damian replied, making everyone just stare.
