Then I felt a strawberry get poked against my lips. I opened my eyes to see Camilo holding the strawberry near my mouth.

"Bite," Camilo told me.

"Camilo, I can feed myself-" I muttered before getting interrupted.

"Bite!" Camilo exclaimed, cutting me off.

I reluctantly did what he said and took a bite from the strawberry. My eyes went wide when the flavour of it surged through my tastebuds. It was sweet but not to a sickeningly degree, the texture felt firm but still chewy and not like that gross mushy kind of strawberry. I closed my eyes and savoured the fruit in my mouth.

"Mmm..." I hummed, still chewing.

"Good, right?" Camilo asked, popping one into his mouth.

I swallowed and immediately took another one from inside the picnic basket.

"Camilo, these are the best strawberries I've ever tasted," I said.

Camilo froze for a moment. He turned to me, his eyes blown wide with curiosity.

"Really?" Camilo asked excitedly "You mean it?"

I was confused as to why he was so excited about me complimenting strawberries but I answered him anyway.

"Mhm" I answered "We had strawberries back in the city but they don't compare to these."

Camilo bit his bottom lip as he smiled brightly at me. I wasn't exactly sure why he was so happy looking but I appreciated it anyway. He looked most beautiful when he was happy like this.

"What's with that face?" I asked, jokingly.

Camilo put a hand to his cheek.

"What? Are my eyes drifting to the side again?" Camilo asked, poking his cheeks carefully.

"No! You just look really happy!" I exclaimed "It's...cute actually."

"I do?" Camilo asked "Well, it's probably because I am super happy right now."

"How come?" I asked.

"Because THE Y/n L/n is on a platonic date with me right now" Camilo answered, flopping backwards.

A bit of his hair got tangled in the leaves and stems of the wildflowers as he laid on the blanket.

"And because they just complimented the strawberries that I grew on my own!" Camilo exclaimed cheerfully "It's been a while since I've been proud of something and hearing that you think the strawberries are that good is just...Ah!"

I laughed at his childish excitement. He was getting all worked up over strawberries. Then again they did take him a month and two weeks to grow. But I meant what I said, they were the best strawberries that I had ever tasted.

"Well, I mean it, Cami," I said, plucking some pink wildflowers from beside me. "You might be a natural at growing plants and stuff, have you ever thought of taking it up as a hobby?"

"First, that means a lot to me, I hope you know that" Camilo said "And second, no, I actually haven't. All of the plant stuff here in Encanto are taken care of by Isabela, there's no real need to."

"Yeah, but it's a hobby!" I said "It's just something you do for fun to make you happy. You seem pretty happy right now so I thought I'd suggest it."

Camilo hummed for a bit.

"Maybe," Camilo said.

Then we enjoyed the comforting silence. Well, it wasn't really silent, there was sound all around us. The sound of the water flowing, the sound of the butterflies flapping their glowing wings gracefully, the sound of Camilo's breathing and the sound of me chewing on some more strawberries.
