Camilo and I finally finished most of the things that we had brought with us. The only things left were a few blocks of cheese on the cheese plate, a bit of mango juice left in our glasses and some crumbs left on the plate where they were once sandwiches.

The two of us decided to pack up and go back to Casita. I folded the blanket and Camilo put all of the plates, glasses and leftover food back into the basket so that we could easily carry it all home.

I made sure to fold the letter that Camilo had written for me carefully into my pocket so it was safe until we made it back to Casita. Then Camilo held his hand out towards me with a kind smile on his face. I took his hand in mine and the two of us walked all the way back to Casita holding hands.

When Camilo and I made it inside the house, I let go of his hand and went to the kitchen, he followed me like a lost puppy. I looked at the clock that was on a shelf in the kitchen and saw that it was just a few minutes before 5PM. We had to be in the school gym with our tickets by about 5:45PM so we had about forty-five minutes to get ready.

"Y/n, Camilo!" Julieta said "How was your date?"

I froze in slight shock. Why did she know about that? Did news really spread that fast in this family?

"It was good," Camilo said, taking an arepa from the plate that Julieta was setting up, "But you already knew that, huh?"

Julieta seemed surprised that Camilo had called her out on how she already knew. Although, she still looked as calm as normal. She gave Camilo a gentle and brief nod.

"Thought so" Camilo said, taking a bite from the arepa, "Thank you for the snack, Tia Julieta."

"No problem, Camilo," Julieta replied, closing her eyes as she smiled.

Then Camilo and I made our way upstairs. We went in front of my room and I opened the door. Camilo stayed by the doorframe. I had noticed that he had formed a little habit of walking me to my room and making sure that I was happy before he left.

"Was it okay?" Camilo asked, nervously fidgeting with his ruana.

"Was what okay?" I asked, tilting my head.

"The date!" Camilo answered "It was all platonic of course but I still tried to make it nice for us. It was for Valentine's day after all."

I gave him a bright smile.

"It was perfect, Cami" I answered., "I don't think I would've changed anything if we could do it all over again."

Camilo bit his lower lip as he shot a bright smile in my direction. He looked so happy and excited.

"I'm glad that you thought it went well" Camilo sighed "To be honest, I was kind of nervous about the whole thing. I really wanted you to enjoy it but I was a little scared to ask you and I was scared of being awkward during the date..."

"You were very charming, Cami," I said, smiling at him.

"Of course I was, I'm Camilo Madrigal!" Camilo said with pride.

It made me so happy to see him refer to himself so happily. I remember that when I was struggling with my identity, I would never refer to myself as Y/n L/n, it always felt like that was just a role I played. But now, I can proudly call myself by my name and refer to myself as such. I'm glad that Camilo is starting to do the same.

"I enjoyed myself a lot too, Y/n" Camilo added "Thank you."

I was just about to say "No problem" or "Your welcome" or something along those lines but I was shut up literally and figuratively when Camilo moved his face closer to mine. He cupped my face and turned my head to the right slightly before placing a gentle kiss on my cheek.

When he moved back, he was breathing in an irregular pattern. His eyes were avoiding mine and he was fumbling with the hem of his ruana. His cheeks and the tips of his ears were dusted with a soft red colour. He cleared his throat before speaking again.

"I'm sorry" Camilo said, quickly "I shouldn't have done that, I don't know why I did it. Can we just forget that it happened? Or not if you want, you can make fun of me for it or whatever you want-"

"Cami," I said softly, interrupting him, "It was sweet. It was just a little sudden for me, that's all."

Camilo shapeshifted into me unconsciously, giving away the fact that he was still a little anxious about what he had just done. I laughed a little at how Camilo's nervous expression was on my own face.

"Cami, you're me right now" I said, gesturing to his body.

Camilo looked down and immediately bounced a bit and shapeshifted back into himself. He let out a forced laugh.

"Sorry! I don't know why I keep turning into you today..." Camilo said, staring at his shoes "I guess I'm just thinking about you a lot. That sounded weird, I don't think about you a lot, I mean I do but like as a friend-"

Camilo continued his rambling until he ran out of breath and had to take in a large gasp of air. He exhaled harshly and finally looked me in the eye. The poor thing looked so embarrassed.

"Camilo, it's not as bad as you're making it out to be" I reassured him "It was just a little peck. It was cute!"

"Cute?" Camilo repeated quietly.

Then a small, shy smile, a smile that I'd never seen on him before, appeared on his face.

"I'll take it," Camilo said, rubbing the back of his neck.

He seemed more calm now, which made me happy. Camilo's eyes widened at what I assumed was a sudden realization.

"Oh! We gotta change!" Camilo exclaimed "We have to be at school at like 5:45!"

"Right" I said, nodding at him "I'll see you later?"

Camilo nodded at me.

"Of course, valentine" Camilo replied, his familiar smirk on his face "We're going together, remember?"

"I would never forget," I replied, giving him a smirk of my own.

Hey, I just wanted to use this platform to remind everyone about the Ukraine/Russia conflict and what is currently happening in Ukraine. I myself am not there nor am I ukrainian or russian so I don't think I'm that qualified to talk about it in detail.

I hope that the people in Ukraine are doing well and I urge you to do some research on what is going on over there right now and please do whatever you can to help and support the people of Ukraine.
