My heart drops after getting off the phone with Ryan.
Xander...in the hospital.
I immediately leave work early and drive to the hospital.
My head is spinning and all the bad memories of that night come back.
I storm into the hospital and run into Dr.Davis.
"Arya?"
"Where's Xander?"
"Follow me." He says as he walks down the hall.
My brain is immediately jumping to the worst-case scenarios.
I notice Ryan and Axton down the hall and tell Dr.Davis that I'll be fine the rest of the way.
Ryan notices me and quickly walks over.
"How is he?" I ask.
"He's okay. He's awake now and talking to his mom." She explains.
I let out a breath I didn't even know I was keeping in.
I notice Axton staring at me wearily so I walk past Ryan and approach him.
"Hey..."
"Hi." He mumbles.
"How are you?"
"Well, other than suffering a literal heart attack at work, I'm okay." He mumbles.
"I'm sorry. This is all my fault." I mumble.
"It's not your fault Arya."
"It is though! I broke his heart! I broke up with him in the worst way possible! I-"
"Arya stop! You were hurting and you thought that pushing people away is what you needed, I get it. Xander just has a bad way of coping with heartbreak." He says.
I don't know what I was thinking but suddenly I wrap my arms around him and hug him.
He lets out a small laugh before pulling Ryan in and returning the hug.
A few minutes later his mom comes out of the room and lets me know that I can go in.
"I don't know If I can do this...what if he doesn't want to see me?"
"He wants to see you." Ryan and Axton speak at the same time.
"Okay..." I mumble before getting up and walking to the door.
I stand by the door and take a deep breath before walking in.
"Mom, I already told you I'm not- oh." He freezes when he sees me.
He looks so...tired.
He has dark bags under his eyes, he's pale, his hair is a mess, his voice is hoarse, and he just looks exhausted.
