"So sweetheart, where ya going?" Eddie asked Adira as they all finished packing away. 'Eddie's basement' was actually the basement at school, and if they were to leave any of their stuff behind in there they would get into trouble

"I don't know, I was thinking of maybe heading over to Maxine's, I need to talk to her about some stuff," Adira explained to him as she removed her skateboard from her bag and tucked it up under her arm. Eddie's face lit up at the words

"No way," Eddie said happily. Adira just looked at the boy in confusion

"Uh... yes way," she said, pulling a funny face as she attempted to figure out what the hell the boy was on

"Well I live right across from Mayfield so you could catch a ride with me if you wanted, oh and Chrissy is coming back to mine for that you know Uh...," he got down close to her ear and muttered the next few words, "stuff the three of us were talking about In the woods earlier today."

Adira tried to ignore the goosebumps that rose on her neck as his cool breath blew on her ear and neck. Eddie pulled away and looked at her, waiting for her response. She seemed to be thinking hard about something for a few moments before she met his eyes with her own

"Yeah okay, thanks," she said to him with a smile and a nod of her head, "when are you grabbing Chrissy?" She asked the boy

"Right now," Eddie said and the two of them grabbed their stuff and made their way over to the door. Adira quickly turned around to face the boys who were all still packing up their stuff

"Thanks for letting me play with you all tonight, I had lots of fun," she said to them all, a beautiful smile on her face

The boys all grinned at her, seemingly now having warmed up to her.

"It was fun-"
"We we're glad that you played-"
"Youre actually really cool and fun to play with-"
"You should do it again some time-"

She waved to them and said her last goodbyes, "Mike, Dusty, you both got a way to get home?" She asked them quickly, making sure that they hold t be walking home alone this late at night

"Yeah, my sister is driving me home, we got mums car," Mike told her as he tried to collect all his stuff quickly so that his sister wouldn't get annoyed or taking so long

"Mums picking me up," Dustin told her. She nodded her head towards both of them and it was finally time for her to go. She gave one last smile up at Eddie and the two of them walked out side by side and began to walk the halls, making their way to Eddie's van which was parked a little bit up the street so that Chrissy could meet them there without being seen again, the last thing she wanted at the moment was to be caught with Eddie Munson, someone who was notorious for selling drugs.

They walked the halls of the school in silence, loud cheering could be heard from the gym which brought a wide smile to Adiras face, "holy shit I think we won!" Adira grinned up at Eddie, "that's a bloody first! I hope Lucas got to play tonight, he's been training so hard and all they do is sit him on the bench, I get that he is a freshman, but they should give him a chance, you know what I mean?"

Eddie nodded his head, smiling at how passionate the girl was, and loving how much she seemed to care about the group of freshman, "yeah, I've seen him play in the gym sometimes, the kid seems pretty good, he could be going somewhere one day," Eddie agreed with her

"I know right! He's like a little prodigy, he deserves it though, he's been through a lot and the kid can't seem to catch a break the poor thing." Adira explained. She was a firm believer that Lucas Sinclair deserves better. He had been through so much and he still goes through so much, the worst part of it all was the looks that he received from people around town, especially the adults.

She had seen the way her parents and Lucas' friends parents looked at the boy and his family, it was horrible.

Adira let out a small sigh as she quickly tried to force a smile back into her face as they made it to the front doors of the school. Eddie pushed the door open and did a little bow as he held it open for her and moved out of her way, "my lady," he said in a funny voice

"Why thank you good sir," she retorted with a giggle and did a small curtesy before walking out of the door.

Eddie was certain that this was the best night of his life as he walked along side Adira down the road over to his car where they would wait for Chrissy Cunningham

Adira brought her hands up to her arms and began to rub them, attempting to warm herself up. Small chitters escaped her mouth as he teeth clashes together quickly from the cool breeze blowing on her bare arms

Eddie noticed almost instantly and knew that this was his chance to make his first move, "you chilly?" He asked her and she shook her head

"I'm alright," she muttered out, not wanting to seem like an idiot.

"Uh huh," Eddie said sarcastically, his notorious grin was practically lighting up the whole night, "you Uh, you look like you're just about to freeze to death," he told her and then pulled his jacket off and tried to pass it to her, "here you go sweet heart," he told her but she instantly shook her head

"Oh, no thank you," she quickly muttered out to him and shook her head firmly. Eddie furrowed his eyebrows and pushed it towards her a bit more

"Really it's okay, I have another jacket in my car anyways, you can wear this one," he continued to insist but she shook her head

"I appreciate the offer Eddie, but I can't," she muttered out to him which only seemed to confuse him but he decided not to press the matter and instead changed the subject slightly

"Where's your denim jacket that you are always wearing, I'm sure today is the first day that I haven't seen you wearing it, it must be really important to you. you take that thing everywhere," Eddie said to her with a small chuckle

A small, sad smile tugged on the girls lips as she nodded her head, "yeah it is really important to me, probably the most important thing that I own," she muttered out sadly, "I couldn't wear it today because some asshole spilt beer on it last night at my brothers party, it took me an hour this morning to wash it out fully, so I had to leave it at home to dry."

Eddie just nodded his head slowly as he tried to take it all in and understand why she didn't have her jacket and why she wouldn't just take his one. He lifted his arm up and put his face down towards his armpit and sniffed it. "Do I smell bad?" He asked her in confusion

"You smell fine," she said and left it at that and he finally got the message that she wasn't going to take his jacket and she didn't want to tell him why she wasn't going to take it.

They got to the van and Adira didn't wait for him to walk around like he was about to do, instead she opened the door herself, hopped in the car and shut the door before sitting in silence as they waited for Chrissy
