Steve, who was quietly humming to himself, looked up from the bottle that he was filling up, and peered up at Robin who had stopped what she was doing, seemingly getting side tracked. He could see that her attention was focused on something else as her eyes sparkled slightly, her head turned as she stared off into the distance. Steve turned his head to see what she was looking at and could see Eddie, Adira and Dustin all mucking around together as they playfully pushed and shoved each other.

Steve let out a small sigh as he recalled the look on Robins face when they had rushed back into the van. Steve was surprised that Robin still had a crush on his sister, it had been ages and Adira was in a relationship (thought Steve undoubtedly was not a fan of this relationship, or any of the relationships that she had been in for that matter) but even then, Robin couldn't seem to take her eyes off her. He looked back down at his bottle and tried to ignore it, not wanting to say anything to Robin just in case it upset her.

"You know I'm sure that it isn't going to last long I mean... he's not really her type Rob, It just doesn't really make sense," Steve suddenly spoke up out of nowhere as he looked over at his friend and continued to prepare for their trip to the upside down

Deep down, Robin immediately knew what and who Steve was talking about, but she hoped that she was wrong, but if she was right, in all honesty, she didn't really want to talk about it, "what are you talking about? What doesn't make sense?"

"Come on Rob, you know what I'm talking about. Munson and Adira, like sure she always goes for weird kids with curly hair and a weird ass obsession with heavy metal music... but she had never shown interest in anyone similar to Munson before," Steve tried to explain to Robin. He had seen the broken look on his best friends face every time that she saw Adira and Eddie even in a close proximity to each other, "I mean look at Billy, he was a complete shit head with anger issues and snapped at the smallest things, whereas Eddie just ignores things and doesn't let them bother him at all.Aand even if they do last a while, I mean maybe she will realise that she likes you instead," Steve suggested

Robin just scoffed softly and shook her head at her best friends attempt to try and make her feel better about the whole situation, "c'mon Steve, she doesn't like girls okay. All she cares about are boys with their stupid hair and bad boy attitude," Robin snapped, trying to make Steve get the hint and change the subject

"Come on Robin, we both know that isn't true, I've seen her look at you the way that you look at her okay, but she's oblivious, she doesn't even know that you like her, or girls for that matter, and she probably hasn't even admitted to herself that she likes girls... our parents are very conservative and religious, they would lose their shit if they found o-"

"Steve! You don't just know if she likes girls okay. And besides, I don't care and I don't understand why you do either with everything that's going on. Honestly, this seems like the perfect time for that little pull of the rug because honestly... in the stakes of the world ending, the stakes of my love life feels spectacularly low," Robin said and tried to put on a blank face as she stared over at Steve, when in all honesty, she hadn't stopped thinking about Adira, that pretty much all she ever did, and she hated herself for it. She was an idiot for obsessing over a girl who would never love her back.

She told herself that it was a losing game, that she was never going to get Adira so she should just give up, lose feelings and try to find someone else. But she just couldn't help it, she fell more in love with Adira everytime that she saw her, and everytime that she tried to convince herself that she was over her, she would just take one look at Adira and go weak in the knees.

"Yeah. I mean I get you there but, still you should have some hope," Steve said and handed her another Molotov cocktail. Robin put on a sarcastic smile and took the cocktail from his hand and put it into the box that had a few other ones that they had already made in there

"Not everything has to have a happy ending," Robin told Steve as she shrugged her shoulders, trying to play off that she didnt care about the fact that Adira didnt like her back, when in reality it was tearing her apart.

Steve chuckled softly at that, nodding his head in agreement, "yeah yeah, believe me. I know," Steve agreed before he looked up and looked over at Nancy who was standing with Max, sawing parts of her gun off to make it more effective

Robin saw where Steve was looking and chuckled softly, "I'm not just talking about failed romance Steve. I just... I have this terrible, gnawing feeling that it might not work out for us this time," Robin explained, voicing her fears as she tried to put on a brave face. Ever since they found out that something was happening in Hawkins again, Robin had had a sickening feeling bubbling in her stomach that something was going to go wrong and someone was going to get hurt or maybe even worse than that.

Steve stopped what he was doing and looked up at Robin, "you think that we shouldn't be doing this?" Steve asks softly. Of course, he had thought that too, he had thought about it at least ten times a day, but he hadn't said anything about it to anyone because he knew that they had to do this, and he didn't want the others to know that he was scared. But it brought him some comfort to know that he wasn't the only one that thought this, but since he wasn't the only one, maybe it was a sign that they shouldn't be doing this after all

"I think that we are mad fools, the lot of us, but..." Robin looked away from Steve and instead allowed her eyes to trail over all of their friends, some who were messing around while others who had serious looks on their faces as they tried to both mentally and physically prepare for the mission ahead of them, "but if we don't stop him then who will?"

They couldn't help but feel like it was their duty, that they owed it to Hawkins to stop Vecna and what he had been doing and what he planned to do to Hawkins. They were the only ones that knew about Vecna, and despite the fact that they were only just young teenagers, they felt that they had to fill the obligation of saving the town. Robin then looked over at Adira, a small smile tugging on her Lips as she watched as Adira ran over to Max and tackled her playfully, " I mean we have to try right?"

She felt her heart sink into her chest as she thought about the possibility of Adira, or any of her friend for that matter, getting hurt. She had only just been given the chance to have these people as her family, and she didnt want that to be taken away from her so soon.

Steve was silent for a few moments, a million thoughts rushing through his head at once before he looked away from the other teens and nodded his head at robin, "yeah," he agreed softly. Robin gave the boy a sad smile, trying to hide how scared she truely was, but Steve could see straight through the facade. He knew she was scared, all of them were scared, it was normal. They were literally going into battle with a supernatural being who can kill someone easily just by getting into their Mind

Steve held up an empty bottle as a way to cheers, "to killing Vecna," he muttered as he tried to make robin feel better by giving her a reassuring smile. He wanted to tell her that this was all going to be fine and they were all going to make it out of this alive, but he didnt want to give her false hope and he definitely didnt want to jinx anything. Steve had never believed in god, it was something that the Harrington parents had tried to force onto their children at a young age, while Adira fell into the life of Christianity for a small period of time, Steve had never believed in god, or any god for that matter.

if god was real, why would he let him and his sister go through everything that they went through when they were younger? Why were there so many people in the world that were suffering despite the fact that they were good people? But recently he had found himself occasionally looking up at the sky, wondering if there really was a god that was watching over them... and he prayed, he prayed that if there truely was a god, that he would protect them and make sure that this all went smoothly. He prayed that nothing would happen to his sister or any of his friends, that they would beat Vecna and save Hawkins and never have to worry about any of this ever again. That they could go off and live their lives how they want to live them, and live happily and start family's of their own

Robin lent over and picked up another bottle, softly tapping it against the lid of Steves bottle, "slash Henry," she said, a more confident smile crossing her face as she tried to brush away any negative thoughts that she was having. It had seemed to go reasonably well for them in the past, so she hoped that it would be fine this time too.

"Slash one," Steve finished
