Chapter 5 : The Shrew Grandfather

Next morning Shay and Nandini were invited in the Minister Mansion again. This time they were called to have lunch like a family. Minister Ohas was usually in the court but the respected grandfather was present in the dining hall. Shay and Nandini were never familiar with the old man because he never treated them as his granddaughters who were born by his illegitimate son. He loaded that wife and his son so he never cared for the two young girls living at the side house without any care after their parents died.

Currently everyone was sitting in the hall where the maids were serving foods. Madam Urvi looked at the two distant girls sitting little farther from them and smiled. Her daughters were most precious and loved in the mansion unlike these two. But the disdain forming in her heart couldn't be shown publicly. She still need to maintain her good posture of loving and caring elder.

On the head seat an old man face filed with wrinkles sat with glory. He used to be the most respected person during his career and now that his son had become the chief advisor and prime minister of Samrat, he couldn't help but full of proudness. He was as already over 70 years, though his skin has wrinkled but he still has energy and his body is fit. Most of the important decisions has been taken by him.

He glanced at the two girls then frowned. Putting a stern face he cleared his throat trying to gain attention of everyone present in the room.

"Before we have meal, I would like to say something"

Madam Urvi smiled "father, we all are here. We will listen to your words"

Sanand nodded his head in agreement "today's matter is important. This matter involves whole minister family and it also involves our future. Since the former Yuvrani died suddenly, Samrat has decided to marry Yuvraj again. As the future of Tanishq she couldn't stay single for long. Samrat has trusted us on this matter and as his servant we need to do everything we could to help him. Besides Ohas had great influence in the court and Samrat trust him so much. That's why Samrat decided that our Miraya would be the next chief wife of the Yuvraj's mansion and become the new Yuvrani " he said then glanced at the two other girls sitting far. He expected them to be shocked and envy. He wanted to see them getting uncomfortable.

But to his surprise the other two didn't even reacted as he expected. They sat there silently staring at him. Not knowing what to do he faked a cough "the imperial decree will be issued in few days then we will start for the wedding" he turned to look at his favourite beautiful granddaughter "Miraya is beautiful and elegant and now that she is going in the imperial palace and be the member of their clan, it is a great respect for us"

Madam Urvi couldn't help but nodded "father you are right, Miraya has been brought up with care and learnt all the lessons so that she could bring our family in the high with respect"

At the side Nandini rolled her eyes. This two shrews are really something. They knew how to calculate things then blast it on others mercilessly. No wonder her father was never able to gain favours from this old fogey. This man doesn't even have any good heart. And how will some win his favour when his face is thick with black bottomless heart.

Now they called her to tell this? Is this even something to appreciate? She rolled her eyes again.

Shay felt her heart clenched. She knew why grandfather was saying this. They called them to throw insults right on their face. She peeked at Nandini who was twirling her spoon on the food aimlessly like she didn't even heard what they were talking. Shay sighed and put the spoon on the plate and didn't even eat a bite.

Madam Urvi looked at them then suddenly frowned. From her expectations they should be feel happy that they could share the good meal like this. But why does these two girls looked so indifferent suddenly and there was no sign of gratefulness for her.
