Sylvie Indrath

My eyes opened, I was in a tent, but that didn't matter. Where was Veer? He freaking knocked me out with blood magic, taking on whatever was ahead, he didn't want me there for some reason. I shot out of bed, and sitting at the desk, was Veer.

"Veer?!" I said, he was just sitting there, spinning the mana ring on his finger, and when I spoke, he smiled up at me. "What? What happened?"

"It wasn't anything, it was a Scythe, but they didn't come to fight." Veer said, then stood up, and made his way over to me. "They offered me a deal, but I had to decline it." He touched my cheek, and it sent shivers down my spine. "I'm sorry, I couldn't let you fight with me if there was one." His eyes were sparkling, showing me, he was truly sorry, then he repeated himself. "I'm so sorry."

"Just don't do it again." I said, and bent over and kissed my forehead, causing me to freeze.

"I promise, I won't." Veer took my hand and pulled me. "Let's go, we are heading back to the castle, we are done here, it isn't safe." My eyes widened in excitement, happy to be returning there, and happy to be out of the field.

I stopped him from exiting the tent. "What was the deal?" I had to know, we held hands as he faced me.

"It was, join him, and my family and Tessia wouldn't die." He shook his head. "But I couldn't do that, I had no clue if he would stick to his words." That was when Veer smiled. "I was a little sad, I wanted to fight the Scythe, but they left when I declined."

"How long was I out then?" I was curious how long he was able to knock me out for.

"Two hours." Veer said, and my eyes widened. "Like I said, I'm sorry for everything." He pulled me out, then asked. "Mind if I ride on your in your dragon form, I'm trying to conserve mana."

"Why?" I asked.

He smirked at me. "It is more like I want to think about things without having to do anything." I nodded my head, knowing he wanted to over think things again. "Please, Sylvie, I need this."

"Fine." I said, and that was when Melody appeared.

"Lance Virion, everything has been taken care of." Melody looked at him, then looked at me suspiciously, then spoke again. "Everything has been cleaned up." I looked around at the tents everywhere, not knowing what she cleaned up.

"Thanks Melody." Veer said, then reached his hand out. "Thank you for leading this force after everything that went down." She nodded her head, not saying anything, then we started walking away. "Let's go."

I transformed into my dragon form, Veer got on to my back, and I started to flap my wings, launching us into the air. We began flying back to the castle, I wasn't going to be able to make it there in one trip, but we should get there by tomorrow night.

I don't know why, but something with Veer felt off, I couldn't put a finger on it, but there was something wrong. "Veer, are you sure there isn't anything wrong?" I asked him, basically shouting through the wind.

"Of course, I am sure, nothing is wrong, Sylvie." He assured me, and I kept on flying. "But I am hungry, I can't wait to get to the Castle and eat something actually decent." That was what he was thinking about at the moment, sometimes he is in a world of his own.

'Arthur, we are on our way home.'

It was the next day, and we flew into the castle, standing there, waiting for us, was Arthur, Elder Virion, King and Queen Glayder, King and Queen Eralith, and Buhnd. They were all staring as I landed, and Veer slid off down my wing, not using magic to get down, and then Elder Virion spoke. "Welcome back, Virion."
