My Beginning After the End Downfall

Strike Teams Pt. II

"Lance Aya, they are on their way." A female elf named Liona told me, my unit was standing in the trees, ready to ambush their force heading this way, they had twenty soldiers guarding fifty elves that were in cages on their carriages.

"Into position." I ordered, looking at the three elves on this side of the street, they started moving, getting ready to strike as I walked out into the street, the other four elves on the other side of the street got into position when they saw me. "Time to be bait." I whispered to myself.

I wasn't really bait, I could kill the Alacryans, but it was important they didn't kill the elves, or use them as hostages to stop us. The carriages got closer, I pulled my sword out, knowing I couldn't just shoot a twister at them, they had elves in their possession.

I wonder how Veer is doing, he probably already attacked the Retainer, it was a clone, so I don't know if he can handle it. A clone taking down a Retainer just doesn't sound accurate, then again, Veer is on Asuran level now.

The carriages were about two hundred yards in front of me, moving quickly, I spun my sword in my hand, getting ready. The other four strike teams were in position, we would all be hitting our targets at almost the same time.

They got closer and closer, then finally they saw me, the soldiers on the carriages quickly yanked on the rope connecting to the mana beast leading them, then I swung my sword forward, motioning for my unit to attack.

Wind blades, water scythes, plant vines, shot out from the forest towards the Alacryan soldiers, their shields activated just in time, protecting some of them, but not all. I launched myself into them, killing the two at the front of the carriage by driving my sword into their cores.

A lightning bolt came at me, I dodged it, going around the mana beasts that were unmoving, then shot at another two soldiers. I swung my blade through one, a shield appeared, blocking my attack, but a wind blade from an elf in the forest sliced the head off of the Shield user, allowing me to attack the mage with lightning magic.

I drove my sword into his throat, killing him, pulling it, deflecting a spear coming down on me as an Alacryan jumped off the top of the carriage onto me. The spear fell to the ground after I hit it, then I brought my sword up and impaled the soldier as he was in the air, pushing wind up into the air so his corpse when flying afterwards.

Spells continued to fly, three of my unit members went towards the back, making sure that the Alacryans didn't try to kill the enslaved elves. I shot a wind blade at another mage, deflected a fire spell away, shot wind out of my feet and launched myself into the air, landing on a carriage, looking down at the Alacryans that were left.

I shot another wind blade at a soldier, cutting him down, then went at it, slowly making my approach to the back of the carriages where the elves were being held. It only took us five minutes to wipe them out, the silence grew, cheers could be heard from the elves when I came into view.

"Everyone, we are here to save you." I said, motioning for Heather to open the cage up. "No need to rush, stay calm, don't push, we will get all of you out of here." The cage doors opened as I stood above them still, we had three medallions, but we really only needed one.

The elves started to pour out of the cage, I slowly got down, flying off of the top of the cage to the ground, assuring them that they were fine. "Lance Aya, Tillian, she, she didn't make it." Liona said, giving me a sorrowful look as she turned her head towards the outskirts of the forest, lying there was Tillian, a giant hole in her chest, it looked like a burn mark.

"Get her body, we will take it back with us." I replied, Liona nodded, motioning for a male elf to help her, his name was Aldon, the two of them walking over to Tillian's body. "Heather, teleport everyone away."
