Circe Milview

"Ehh, fine, head back, I'll take care of them." The child voice told them, this child had to be Lance Virion if he was ordering them around.

"Are you sure, Lance Virion, we would be happy to help you out." Weaver said, and I felt Lance Virion walking this way.

"Yeah, go rest." Lance Virion told them, and they bowed once again, then left the kid by himself. "This forest sucks dick." The Lance walked below us and stopped by the stream. "I know I am a clone, but this sucks!"

"Did he say clone?" Fane asked, and we nodded, all hearing the same thing.

"And there are seven other clones here, why the hell am I the one that has to deal with this." All of us just froze at his words, he's not even real, but it looks like he is.

"So, this is the Devil of Dicathen." Fane was eyeing him up in fear, Cole was trembling, Maeve was stunned, but I, but I was fine until he spoke again.

"I believe your name is Circe Milview!" The Lance shouted; I felt the color drain from my face. "I don't really remember the names of your fellow team members, however, if you come out now, I won't harm you!" Fane shook his head at us, but we all knew we couldn't give ourselves up. "I know where you are, your shield user can't protect you from me!"

"He's not even facing in our direction?" Fane held up his hand for us to stay still. "I think he's bluffing." We all stayed still, not trying to be discovered by this child, a clone of the real Lance. This kid was on a whole different level than us, I couldn't stop my heart from pounding in my chest, I was afraid of dying.

"I'm not bluffing." He said, still looking away from us. "Circe, come down, and the rest of your team lives. I only want you, and yes, I know you are in a tree." We didn't know what to do, it didn't make sense, how could he possibly know. "Five!"

"What do we do?" Maeve asked us all.

"Four!"

"He's bluffing, he has to be." Fane whispered.

"Three!"

We stayed silent, should I jump and give myself up, I could save everyone else here if he is telling the truth. I don't want them to die because this Lance wants me, and not them.

"Two!"

I took a step, but Cole grabbed me before I could jump.

"One!"

Nothing happened, the Lance just stood there motionless. "I told you; he's bluffing." Fane said, and we all realized he was right.

"Really? Nothing? I'm giving you all the chance to live, and yet, now, I have to kill three of you." The Lance sighed very loudly; it seemed like he was annoyed that we didn't come out. Every single one of us were still freaking out, wondering what in the world was going to happen. "Fine, I guess this it, say your goodbyes, and then I'll end it."

Fane shook his head. "Don't listen to this child, he is just playing mind games with us." We all stayed silent after, seeing what the Lance was going to do, then all of a sudden, he vanished before us. "Where did he go?"

"I don't see him." I said. "Let's me try my crest." I went to activate it, but I couldn't for some reason, I couldn't activate anything. "I can't activate anything, what's going on?"

Cole turned to us, wide eyed, as his veil fell. "I-I lost control, I can't activate my runes either." We started looking around, not knowing where the Lance went.

"We should ru---" Fane was cut off as a blue dagger entered his throat.

Our eyes widened at the sight of the Lance behind Fane, holding the dagger in his throat. "I told you all what was going to happen." He ripped the dagger out, then kicked Fane's body off the branch and onto the ground.
