Circe Milview"Oh shit." I said a little louder than I should have. I covered my mouth, then spoke again. "I didn't know that, but I still should be able to lead us through, I can sense him as well if he comes into range."
"Let's pray to the High Sovereign that you are right, otherwise, we are all going to die on this mission." Fane shook his head, knowing if we came across the Lance, we would all die.
"Circe, Cole, rest up, we are going to need the two to be at full strength." Maeve said, and Fane nodded. "I'll take watch again, you three rest up." We all leaned back, releasing the tension we had just felt, but the fear in all our minds was still there.
---
Four hours later, it was my turn to keep watch, I was currently at a stream, right next to the branches we were camping on for the night. I bent over, cupped my hands, and drank the water, pouring it as well as I could, into my mouth.
I then cupped some more, and splashed my face with it, getting off any dirt that I could, and when I was doing that, I felt a figure move from behind me, and as I took a closer looked with my crest activated already, I noticed it was Cole heading this way.
I turned to him, and as I did, his eyes widened. "What? Are you surprised I sensed you coming?"
"N-no." He said, then rubbed the back of his head. "Sort of."
I shook my head, and then said. "Did you come to see if I was okay? Or were you hoping to catch a peak at my exposed bits?" Cole raised his arms and waved them in concern. "I'm only joking, Cole, relax."
He placed his hand on his heart. "O-oh, good." He said, joining me on my side, cupping water from the stream in his hands, and drinking it. "We shouldn't be here, Circe, I should get you back."
"It's fine, I'm still keeping an eye out on our surroundings." I assured him. "Nothing will get close to us without me knowing first."
"Okay, if you say so, but I still think we should head back." Cold insisted, and I nodded my head. "I can keep watch, you can go back to bed and rest, we need your strength."
"We need yours as well." I told him as we arrived below the branches and started to climb them again. "Your veil is protecting us from the elves, even possibly Lance Virion."
"Let's hope." He said, thinking about the Lance coming for us.
We got back into the tree, and two figures appeared within range, and my eyes widened. I motioned for Cole to wake up Maeve who was next to him, and I nudged Fane back awake.
"More?" Fane asked, and I nodded my head. "Where at? How many?" Cole's veil was activated, keeping us hidden. I held up two fingers, and Fane nodded. "If we have to, I'll take them out, you three run. I'll try not to use mana, but I may have to depending on their strength."
I held up my hand as their footsteps could be heard. "Are we sure we are in the right region? Lance Virion doesn't know the Elshire Forest that well, even if he has been helping us a lot." It was the elf from before, he was speaking with the one named Abold.
"That may be true, but we both know what that child is capable of." Abold told his companion as they stood near the stream, the four of us were unmoving, not trying to be detected. "Did you hear what the real Lance Virion was up to? He was running through our border, wiping out camps underground, all by himself, they said he killed four thousand troops by himself."
I looked at Fane, his eyes, even though he was a veteran, were wide in fear from hearing a story about the Lance. "What? I didn't hear that, is it true?" The elf asked Abold, and I was curious now, was this Lance Virion truly that strong, had he wiped out a camp of four thousand soldiers?
