Virion Eralith"We don't know the truth." I told the rest of the council. "Are we really considering the fact Virion killed Tessia." In the room was Arthur, Lady Sylvie, King and Queen Eralith, King and Queen Glayder, Buhnd, and Lance Aya, Varay, and Bairon.
Arthur looked at the ground. "From what I was told, gramps." He paused and shook his head, trying to comprehend everything. "Veer, did in fact kill Tessia." We had just been in Veer's room about four hours ago, after learning of the death of my granddaughter, Arthur came to me, and called a meeting. It looked like he had been crying over the death of Tessia, and the shock of finding out Virion did it, or might have done it.
"Why would he do such a thing? I don't believe it." Merial spoke up, and I think most of us agreed with her, but Arthur seemed certain when he told us moments before.
"Arthur, I know you told us you couldn't say your source, but this is a big deal." I said, needing to know the facts, but if Arthur, his brother, was so sure, it's hard to imagine that he was lying. "If Virion killed Tessia, we need to talk to him."
Before Arthur could respond, King Glayder spoke up. "He is losing his mind, right?" Everyone turned to him. "What if he killed her by accident? It's possible that he killed her thinking she was an enemy."
"And lied about it?" Arthur said. "No, gramps, my source is reliable." He looked at his bond, and then back to me. "I think Veer lost his mind and killed Tess for other reasons. I don't know what we should do, but if we want to do anything, the time is now while he is in the medical wing."
"But he said...." My son spoke but stopped as he thought about it. "I love Virion like a son, I think we all do." He motioned towards Merial and me. "If he lost his mind, and did in fact kill my daughter, he needs to be sent into the dungeons, not because he is our enemy, but for his own good, at least, at least until we find a cure."
"I agree." King and Queen Glayder spoke. "He can't be trusted; his mind is too fragile." King Glayder added, and I think we all agreed with that. "The only thing is, he's been carrying us through this war, without him, we may not stand a chance."
"You are right." I said. "Arthur, I don't want you there, same with you Aya." I looked at the two. "You two are too close to him, Lance Varay, Lance Bairon, I am entrusting the two of you to take him down. We know what he is capable of, so be careful, we don't know just how much his mind is gone."
"We will handle it." Lance Varay said. "But I have to ask, Arthur, are you willing to do this to your brother?" When I looked over at Arthur and Lady Sylvie, I noticed that Lady Sylvie had been crying a lot, her eyes were just staring at the ground, she hadn't said a word.
"I have too." Arthur said. "I owe it to him, we all do, his mind is broken because we allowed him to break it." His tear filled eyes looked at me. "He is willing to do anything to make sure we win this war."
"Then we will bring him down to the dungeon." Varay nodded, and then looked at Bairon, gesturing to leave the room.
I stopped them though. "Wait." I held my hand up. "His mother is with him, right?" I looked at Arthur, and he nodded his head. "Before you try anything, we need to get her out of there. We sadly don't know what he is willing to do, so don't put her in harm's way."
Arthur stood up and said. "I-I'll handle it." He turned towards Sylvie. "Sylv, how about you go to my room and rest, I know this is going to be hard for you." The dragon stood as well, but I stopped them as well.
"No, Arthur, Lady Sylvie, both of you need to stay here, I don't want you being a part of this at all." I knew Virion was going to be upset with whoever placed him in the dungeon, and I didn't want him to be mad at them.
