I stood there, breathing heavily as my blood and the blood of the ogres ran all down my body, just like the last four times, their bodies vanished, and I fell to my knees, tired, in pain, and just unable to stay on my feet.

I've been doing this for the last thirty something hours, I had almost no energy left, aether replenished my wounds, but it didn't help with keeping my body active. "Veer!" Fenyir said, running up behind me as I knelt on the platform two staircases down from the top of the tower.

I could feel my vision going in and out from pure exhaustion, I hadn't slept that much because I wanted to make sure nothing happened to Fenyir when I was asleep. I couldn't predict when the ogres were coming, Hades was up here now, inside of my body, trying to do his part in healing me, but he couldn't really do anything either.

"Fenyir, I-I think I need a break." I said jokingly, falling backwards even more, but I felt two hands come up from behind me, catching my shoulders, keeping me from hitting the ground. "Oh, thanks." I spoke with a tired tone of voice.

"Can you get to the top of the tower?" She asked me, but I went silent as my body felt numb, out of energy after killing thirty ogres that time, each wave was a different amount. I felt her hands wrap around my body, and she pulled me into her chest. "I can try to carry you if you want."

"No." I tried to move, but I could tell my body wanted to just stop, I slowly pushed myself up using Fenyir's shoulders to get to my feet, and she got up beside me, wrapping her arm around my waste. "That one was rough, I won't lie."

I could feel my eyes closing, then opening, then closing again, it was hard to stay awake, I was about to pass out, but I needed to get to the top of the tower, so I could know that I was safe for sure.

"You are telling me, I was watching, that knife got placed right in your chest, and you ripped it out like it was nothing, then shoved it down the ogre's throat." I would have laughed, but I had no energy to. "I appreciate you fighting so hard to make sure that I am safe, Veer, thank you."

"Oh, you think I am fighting hard for you." I spoke with a joking tone as we finally made it to the top of the stairs. "I was fight for fun really." The light went out as my eyes closed, the energy that I used to get up the stairs vanishing, my legs giving out, my consciousness drifting away.

----

My eyes slowly opened, my head was on a pillow, a blanket was on me, and Fenyir was pushing me aggressively. "Veer! There's another group of ogres coming! Veer!" I shot up to my feet, we were in our tent on top of the tower. "There about five minutes out, four flights down."

"Fuck." I said, rubbing my eyes, my body still tired, not numb, but you could tell I wasn't used to fighting without mana. "How long did I get to rest? It feels like two or three hours." I cracked my back, stumbling out of the tent as Fenyir joined me.

"About two hours, that's it, the next group came out of nowhere." She told me, and I sensed for Hades, he was moving around in my blood, doing what he could to heal me, which was basically nothing.

'I'm here, and let me say, your Vritra body is the only reason you are alive right now.' Hades told me, and I laughed a little, turning to Fenyir who had a hand on the tent examining me, seeing if I was okay or not.

"Alright." I said, picking up the sword I left on the ground, then stepping down the stairs, feeling drowsy, but still dangerous. "Stay back, Fenyir, I'll kill them all." I told her, feeling my heartbeat pick back up, the adrenaline coursing through me grow. "I won't let them get to you."

"Veer..." Fenyir said, but I kept on going, making my way to the first platform below the top of the tower, ready to fight to some extent. "I believe in you." I felt a rush of energy spread throughout my body, why did that comment make me feel a little rejuvenated.
