Eleanor Leywin

It's been a week since our little chat at the fire, that's been pretty much the topic of conversation at the council meetings. What are we going to do with the asuras, and how are we going to get more food, since we barely have any left.

It was decided that Aya and Varay were going to go with a team, they are heading out soon, I think either this week or next, but the plan had to be thrown together fast since we were already almost out of food.

Now with the asuras, the announcement would be made at some point, when that was, I had no clue. He was going to wait until the food supplies got larger, so that the people wouldn't worry while making the big decision, even though I had no intentions of being a slave.

From everything I've heard, nothing good will come from working with them now, they are nothing more than a hinderance, what Veer said was all true. He knew, and I knew that he never liked them, but it's obvious to me now why.

"El, are you okay?" My mother asked as she laid next to my father on the couch. "You've been quiet lately, is there anything you would like to say? Maybe you want to talk about something?" She was still not doing the best, I think that's the only way to describe it, right now she was laying on the couch with a blanket on, it a better mood.

"I'm fine." I answered. "How are you doing today, mom?" I knew she had just woken up about thirty minutes ago, coming out here when she did, and just laying back down. My dad was getting us breakfast, since rations were low, we really didn't have anything to make.

"I'm doing okay." She responded with a slight smile. "I could be better if my sons were here." The atmosphere got a little darker, something that was a norm around here. "When are they going on that mission to get more food?"

"Soon." I shrugged. "I don't know exactly when, but it should be any day now. Aya will be gone for a little, it's been nice having her around." I saw why she got along with Veer so well, the two were not super alike, but they had similarities. "I wish I could go."

"No." My mother instantly said. "I am not having you go on any missions outside of this place, no way, not now, not ever." I nodded, not wanting to show her my real feelings towards that, but for now she had a point. "I still can't believe I didn't get to say goodbye."

"Mom, I know, but remember, yes, we were told he was dead, but let's be honest, he's been dead countless times, or captured, there's a chance he's alive." I truly wanted to believe that, but the fact was that they killed all his clones, it really leaned on the death side, but I wasn't going to tell my mother that. "Just cling to hope, Arthur is still out there, Veer clarified that."

"It is still hard, knowing he is out there on another continent, and that he may not know that his little brother is dead." She shook her head as she pulled the blanket closer to herself. "I-I miss him already, I know the one was a clone of Veer, but that was enough for me until the real one came back, but now, it just, it just saddens me to think about."

"Yeah, let's change the subject." I said, knowing that she might start crying if we continued to talk about this. "What are your plans for the day?" I asked, not thinking about what I had just asked, I was pretty sure she was just going to be sitting here the entire time.

"I don't know." Yeah, I was right, she had no intentions of getting up. "I'll probably just hang around here for the rest of the day." I'll probably go and see Aunt Tabitha, it may be nice for her to speak with my mother for a little, knowing the two got along quite well.

"I'm going to go and see Lilia later, should I tell Aunt Tabitha to come over?" I asked, and she nodded her head, not responding with words. "Lilia was wondering what was up with everything, so I plan on telling her some minor details before the word gets out."
