"El, where did Veer go off to?" I asked my daughter who was eating breakfast at the table, I had made a plate for Veer, but he never showed up, he hasn't been sleeping lately and it is worrying me.

"I think he went off to train with Lance Bairon." She said, eating a bite of her oatmeal, basically the only thing we had here. "He's trying to master lightning magic, I saw him yesterday, he is pretty good with plant magic and earth magic."

"Haaa." I sighed loudly, then placed the bowl for him down in the kitchen. "I guess he won't be eating breakfast again." This is the third straight say he didn't eat anything in the morning. "And your father went off to help the Twin Horns, they are preparing a burial for Angela."

"What about Sylvie?" Ellie asked with a serious tone, knowing that it was because of her death that Veer is having trouble. "What are we going to do about her? Are we going to bury her here? Is Veer going to allow that?"

"I don't see why he wouldn't want that." I said, thinking about it, Veer should be fine with it, but nowadays I don't know what he is thinking, he has been sending clones out there to help people. "Eat up, I know it is nasty, but make sure to finish the meal."

"I will." She said, I turned back to the counter where I left Veer's bowl, that kid sometimes gives me so many headaches. "I think I am going to train with Helen later today, it's not like we have much to do down here."

"Just be careful." I said as I turned to her, making my way to the table, and sitting down across from my daughter. "El, what are your thoughts on your brother?" I asked, looking at her with a caring face, I wanted to know what she thought we should do. I want to forbid him from leaving this bunker, but he has already proven that he can save countless people, bringing back Gideon like he said and others.

"Well, I know he isn't himself, but that makes sense, we just lost Sylvie, and besides Arthur, he was the closest person to her." Ellie told me, then went on. "And after everything he has done this week, he'll never come out of the field, I know that isn't what you want to hear, but Veer won't listen to you if you tell him to stop going out there."

I nodded, and then spoke. "I know, he has already proven that to me, but sometimes, I feel like he needs to just stop, take a moment, and relax." I would prefer it if my youngest child stopped going out there, I didn't need him dying. "And with Arthur's disappearance, I want your other brother to stay by my side."

"Arthur is in Alacrya."

"Yeah, I know, but that isn't reassuring to know." I said, shaking my head. "The last son I had in Alacrya was tortured and broke, when he returned, he pretended to kill the Princess and turned himself into a villain for a short period of time."

"Oh, I didn't think of that." El said, then stopped eating, leaving her spoon inside of the bowl, but it was empty. "Arthur will be back, I believe it, and when he returns, he'll be out there with Veer, so you know they'll be safe."

"I suppose." I don't know about that, but for now, Veer is in here, at least the real one, that is all that mattered right now. "Ellie." A thought appeared in my mind. "Do you have any idea on how to tell if it is a clone or now? I know your brother's magic is strong, but is there a chance that this whole time the Veer down her has been a clone?"

"It isn't a clone." Ellie waved it off as she got to her feet. "Stop worrying about that, it's the real Veer, that was the whole point of training, he said once he finished, that was when he would go out again." I could see that Ellie was hiding something, her voice trailed off a little.

"What aren't you telling me? What are you hiding, El?" I said, asking her with an authoritative voice, if she knew something about Veer, I needed to know.
