Eleanor LeywinIt's been a week since Veer's return, well, his clone's return, and I'll admit, when he first told us about what happened, dealing with our parents was a pain. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm still worried about him, and I still cried when I first heard it, but my mom was a complete mess.
At the moment, sitting on the couches in the small living room we had in the house was Aya, my father, Veer, and me. My mother went to help Aunt Tabitha out, she wasn't going to go, but our father thought it was for the best if she got out of the house for a little.
Veer had his head on Aya's shoulder, with her hand around him. My father was on the couch beside them, and I was next to Veer, except he wasn't leaning towards me. "Veer." My father spoke up, we were just chatting about the bunker moments before, but it appears as if my father wants to change the subject to something a little more important while my mother isn't here. "I know this isn't important right now, or maybe it is, but have you seen Arthur? Is there any sign that he is alive?"
"Dad." Veer responded, even though he was a clone, it still felt like my brother was here. "Yes, I actually saw Arthur this week, and we spoke, he's fine, not fine, but he is doing okay." I sat up a little as he spoke about our brother, Aya released him, and he sat up as well. "Arthur has become a little dark, you know, being in another continent, the same continent that took over his, so he's had to do somethings that he probably didn't want to."
"But he's alive?" I asked, looking at Veer with wide eyes. "You confirmed it?"
"Yes." He answered with a smile, it seemed like a fake smile, but a smile it was. "Our brother is alive, El, and he'll be back soon." He told me, then went on, looking at our father. "Dad, I know you've all been worried over my death, or my capture, we don't know, but hopefully things go our way soon."
"Veer, this past week has been so nice having you here, I hope you know that." My dad told him, sending him a smile. "It makes me think that we should have stayed with Scythe Seris."
"Well." Aya spoke up. "I know this isn't my family or anything, but I'm happy you came back." She said jokingly. "I missed you Veer, and I know this isn't the real you, but I missed you, and now that Ellie is a Vritra, our force down here got a little stronger."
"I know, Aya, I was just---"
Aya continued to smile at my father, cutting him off. "I know what you meant Rey, I was just saying, it's nice having you here, even if the times are the greatest right now." We all nodded our heads. "Ellie is now a Lance, meaning all the Leywin children are Lances, you must be proud of that, Rey."
"It's both good and bad." He said with a smile. "I got one son in a different continent, one son possibly dead, but I won't think like that Veer, and Ellie who is here. I can't lose any of them, it'll break both Alice and me."
"Dad, I'll be fine." I assured him, not knowing what the future holds for me, but I was stronger, I could fight on my own now. "I just wish I could train a little more, but unfortunately, there isn't much space in here."
"Yeah." Aya said, shaking her head. "With all the people Veer saved, there isn't much space down here to do much, everyone is either in the streets talking, trading, or by the stream washing off, so there's nothing to do really."
"Hey, next time I won't save people, then you won't complain about the space." Veer said jokingly, Aya slapped him on the shoulder. "I'm just joking, the bunker isn't meant to be a long term fix, at some point, we are going to have to retake Dicathen." He paused, waving his hands in the air. "When that'll be, I don't know, but it should be in the coming months."
