(One Day Till Battle)

Arthur Leywin

Sylvie and I sat on a nearby edge, staring off into the ocean, taking in the view. It was beautiful, it truly was, the ships were on their way, closing in on our location, the battle soon to begin. We have been helping prepare, motivating the people when we could, Sylvie hasn't been as cold, but I could tell she was still upset.

I felt a stillness in the air, and I turned to my bond, her eyes on mine, she was smiling. "It's good to see you again, Arthur, or Grey, whatever you want to be called." Sylvie spoke, and my eyes widened as I stared at her, or Agrona, I spoke with him before, but why was he shown himself this time.

"Agrona." I said, turning towards him. "What do you want?" I asked angrily, not liking the fact he can just take over my bond whenever he wants.

"To talk, that is all, Arthur, that is all." He held up his arms in defense, examining me. "I can't imagine everything you have been through, truly, it's hard to imagine, the loss of your beloved, and the loss of your brother."

"I'm dealing with it in my own ways." I told him, not reacting in any way. "Why would you care how I felt?" I asked him, hoping to figure out what his true motives were in coming here.

"You must be pretty angry with your brother, after everything he has done." He shook his head. "To imagine that he actually had the balls to kill the Princess, I wonder, where is he?" I shrugged, not knowing, trying to push the anger away that was building up inside of me when he spoke of Tess. "He truly is a Devil, you know that? I still can't believe he had the clone do that right after I freed him."

"Well, it was your fault we found out he killed her, don't you forget that." Agrona was the one who informed me that Veer killed Tessia. "If nothing was said, he probably would be here with us, ready to fight."

"And you thought I wanted that?" He asked me, tilting his head slightly. "No, of course I didn't, but now, I need him more than ever, I only released him because I wanted to see how it played out. If he is a Legacy, then he should be capable of what I think he is."

"And what is that?" I didn't address the fact he just called Veer a Legacy, he didn't speak of that last time. "What do you think he is capable of besides out thinking you?"

"If you think he out thought me, you are very, very wrong." Agrona said, I wonder if he thinks Tess is alive as well, the evidence isn't there, but he probably has his speculations. "I am here to offer you something, and you should know, this is my final warning to you."

"I'm not leaving Etistin." I told him, knowing he doesn't want me to fight in this battle, or any battle. He has already offered me safety for abandoning Dicathen, which sounds good, but I couldn't allow these people to fall under Vritra law.

"If you don't, I'll go for your parents." My eyes widened, unable to control my reaction. "See, I told you, consider this offer. I need Virion now, he will be mine eventually when I find him, if I need to exploit your parents, I will." He paused, examined me some more, then went on. "I will capture the two, well, actually, I might as well take your sister as well, and then trade them for your little brother."

"No." I answered. "You honestly think I would do that, just allow you to capture them, and even if you think you can, I would never trade Veer for them." I spoke slightly aggressively to him.

Agrona shook his head. "You have a choice, King Grey, and I'll let you pick, you should be good at these types of decisions. If you leave the battle right now, when I return Sylvie's body to her, I won't go after your parents and sister, and I'll capture Virion when he shows up here in this disgusting place you call a city."
