My Beginning After the End Downfall

We were now on to our third Alacryan base hit, we have rescued over a hundred men and women who were being held as prisoners near the dwarven boarder, our small unit becoming larger and larger as the days went.

We were at ten soldiers, but now, we had about twenty, all of us mages who could fight. I still had a simple job, make sure Mica didn't do anything she wasn't supposed to, not yet, at least, but soon everything will be coming into place.

I was standing behind Skarn and Hornsfels, Mica was on the other side of the Alacryan camp, this one had about twenty soldiers, it was a smaller one, so that meant there weren't as many prisoners here, only ten, but that's ten lives we could help.

"Boom! Boom!" The ground started to shake due to the explosions that Lance Mica had just caused inside of the camp. "Let's go!" Skarn yelled, the nineteen of us started running, making our way to the prisoner, I shot a water scythe at a soldier who wasn't paying attention to us, but the screams of his fellow soldiers, and it sliced him in half.

I stood guard, allowing the augmenters to go in front of me, I didn't need to be in front line, they had about two soldiers that were heading this way. Hornsfels opened the cage as the prisoners got to their feet.

"We are saved!" The prisoners shouted as they started to run past us and into the forest. We shot water, wind, and earth spears at the enemy heading this way, killing their two soldiers with ease as Mica handled the rest of them, destroying their camp.

"Let's go, we are done here." I ordered everyone falling in line as we left the camp behind, heading to the portal that was up ahead, leading back to the Wall, this was the last one we were supposed to attack, so it was time to return.

"Everyone, into the portal." Skarn shouted, and they all began to run through the orange portal, I followed in line, being one of the last ones through, and as I did, Virion appeared, giving me a smile as I approached him, slowing down.

"Cassandra." He said, examining me. "It seems everything went according to plan; I don't see any injuries." His red eyes stared into mine like he actually cared. "Where's Mica?" He stepped up, standing beside me as I faced the portal with him.

"I don't know." I said honestly. "She was destroying the camp as we came through, it's only a matter of time before she shows herself, everything is fine." I told him and he nodded his head, trusting in my words.

"Oh, here she is." He said as the Lance came walking through the portal, then it closed. "Mica, are you alright?" The Lance approached us with Skarn and Hornsfels, the prisoners and citizens around us started to help each other out, some were cheering, just happy that we helped more people.

"I am fine." Mica said, stopping before us. "We saved everyone from the three camps you found, and we didn't lose a single person." She said proudly. "I think it's time to talk about doing something larger." It's like Virion knew she was going to say this, I mean, it is exactly what he predicted.

"I agree." Virion said, turning to the staircase. "But you should go rest, Mica, we can talk about all that in the morning, it's pretty late, and you have been running around for a while." I turned with Virion, planning on following him. "First thing in the morning, we can decide what we should do."

"Okay, I agree." Mica said, then spoke to her cousins. "Let's head back to our rooms, I can use a nice rest on an actual bed." Virion started walking towards the stairs and I did the same, leaving the dwarves behind.

"Haha, I was thinking the same thing!" I heard Skarn say as we arrived at the stairs, I wasn't that tired, I could talk to Virion for a little, it wouldn't hurt me, I barely did anything, Mica was the real hero.
