(One Week Later)Hades suggested we waited a week until we left for Seris's estates, Cylrit was also alright with it, so everything was fine, not that it mattered what he thought. I was sitting around a fire pit with my fellow Lances; besides Mica, she was at the Wall with three of my clones.
"Virion, are you sure leaving is the best choice for you?" Lance Bairon asked me, Aya, Varay, and him all looking at me with curious eyes, yet sorrowful ones. "We are really going to need you, yes, you brought three hundred mages here, and the earth mages are trying to build more homes, but we can't stay down here forever."
"Bairon, it has only been two weeks since the fall of Dicathen, and in those two weeks, I have slaughtered around thirty thousand men and women." I told him, then went on. "But that isn't a solution, in time, a solution will present itself." That solution was going to be Arthur and me, I couldn't hold cities by myself, they send Vritras and they were going to be gone again. "You have to trust me, Bairon, I am doing this for everyone's sake."
"I can't say I like it." Varay said, giving me a smile. "But I understand, you want to protect your family, and you want to get stronger." She paused, eyeing me up with curiosity. "You said that you are going to a Scythe's home, but can't you defeat them, can she really teach you enough to get stronger?"
"Well, let's just say she won't just be teaching me." I said, looking over at my house. "Just like how I made Arthur a dragon, and myself a Vritra, I am going to make Ellie a Vritra, she's going to have the same powers as the Scythe."
"What?!" Aya exclaimed, well, they all did. "Why haven't you done that with everyone?"
"I can't." I answered. "I can only do it to people related to me it appears, it sucks, but it is the truth, I have been using Alacryans as test subjects, but they still end up dying after I inject them with blood." From that comment, I received what looked to be concerned gazes, which I guess makes sense, I just openly admitted to doing experiments on people.
"I-I see." Varay responded. "Well, even if you are limited to who you can make stronger, having Ellie as a Vritra will help us a lot, and especially if she will be trained by one." Seris has a lot of long distance spells I believe, so it'll be good for Ellie.
"Come here." Aya grabbed my shoulders, pulling me into her chest as we sat a log together. "I am going to miss you even if it isn't going to be for that long, and even if you are still leaving clones here, I like being around the real you." She backed away, and before I could respond, she laid a punch onto my shoulder. "That's for tricking us with a clone, you should have told everyone that you planned on saving Varay."
"I'm sorry." I said, giving her a smile, feeling a little bit of joy from Aya's words. "I didn't want anyone to question what I had planned, and it is good I didn't, because it worked, I got what I wanted, I gave you all three hundred mages to work with in here."
"You left a lot of other citizens." Bairon added, causing me to stop talking, because I knew I did, but I had no choice, I did what I thought was best. "I understand, you were on a time frame like you told us when you got back, but you could have saved a couple children."
Couldn't say I cared about them, but he had a point. "I'm sorry, I did what I thought would be best for the future, I figured with more manpower here, the faster we could take back Dicathen in the future."
"That thinking is entirely wrong." Varay agreed with me. "What do you plan on doing with your clones while you are gone? Are you going to leave on in here?" I nodded my head, I was going to leave one here, but I didn't think telling them about the others was needed.
