**Authors Note:

Hey guys! Super excited for this chapter :) The Pein Arc is slowly coming to a close and I hope you all don't mind but chapters will be getting a little longer haha

I just need to get to a certain point by chapter 100 of this book because after that we start Scroll 4 :) So expect some longer chapters such as this one!

Just a heads up that because this is longer we have more than one POV change. So in case you get lost, it will be Rin, then Sakura, then Pein, and finally Naruto.

Also, super random but how do you guys pronounce Rin? Cause I'm pretty sure its R-In like R and then In but no matter what I always read it as Reen. I might just be crazy haha.

And a pole update! Kakashi is in the lead, No one is second, Shikamaru is third and Gaara has fallen to the last place. There are no new write-ins :)

Rin

I hadn't strayed far; in fact, I was still within attacking distance but I had masked myself enough that Pein couldn't quite pinpoint my location. That and his lack of extra eyes had given me a nice advantage. I had most of my focus on the genjutsu, and to be frank I never had an attachment to Naruto's summoning toads or frogs so Fukusaku wasn't a huge loss for me. Naruto's screaming on the other hand was becoming a distraction. I was attempting to layer the genjutsu but the first layer alone was already so intricate. That and I could almost feel this blockade in Pein's mind, one that I couldn't just barge through or it'd give it away. I needed to chip away at it.

"I could break through, easily, if only..."

"Could you shut up I'm trying to focus" I hissed in response. The Jubi scoffed, annoyed at my lack of cooperation.

"I can help you Rin, together we could be more powerful..."

"You've lived in my long enough to know I wouldn't cave for something as trivial as power, if you wanted someone so easily manipulated you should have chosen Sasuke" I replied shortly and heard him sigh. This whole voice in my head was going to get old, fast. I felt another barrier weaken, Pein had done well to guard his mind to this kind of attack but I was managing to chip cracks into it. I released a slow breath as I pushed my jutsu further.

"Are you kidding me" I muttered. Another wall, more time and Naruto was fading.

"Rin" I ignored him.

"Rin" He persisted but I focused on the task at hand.

"Rin" He said again, this time a little louder.

"What!?" I snapped.

"Don't you feel it" He replied simply and I was about to demand what when I realized what he was talking about. Another body had entered the field; I could feel the earth shake from their attack. A strong chakra but not one I could fully recognize, in ways it reminded me of Neji's.

"I won't let you hurt Naruto anymore!" I knew who it was the moment she spoke, Hinata.

"This girl is strong but she cannot defeat Pein, is your plan worth her death?" The Jubi asked.

"She also belongs to a high clan with eyes as revered as the Uchiha, she can handle herself" I replied but even I questioned it. Hinata was from the head family of the Hyuga clan. Neji was from the branch but his proficiency with the Byakugan was spoken about more often than Hinata's. I knew Naruto would urge her to run but I couldn't sense her leaving.
