"Well, Lance, you've done a marvelous job," you grumbled.

Lance sat down beside you, "I'm sorry!"

"Why couldn't you stop messing around for just a minute?!" You yelled, "Just focus for once!"

"Hey, we got a tail!" Lance yelled.

You flipped the guns to point in the opposite direction, "Maybe this wouldn't have happened if you hadn't tried to attack the base! We were just supposed to get information on their forces!"

"I'm sorry, but I thought we could do some good while we were here!" Lance yelled.

You fired at the fighter that was attacking you, "We took this ship because they wouldn't recognize us and because we didn't expect to fight! I had you on the guns in case of an emergency!"

"I'm sorry, okay!" He yelled, spinning the ship to avoid blowing up.

Your eyes widened, "LANCE, THERE ARE MORE FI-" An explosion shook the ship. "LANCE, GET US OUT OF HERE!"

"Hold on, I'm trying!" The ship spun in circles, due to the damage throwing it off balance.

Your screens showed that you were headed toward a planet, "Lance! Where are we going?!"

"Down." He nosedived, narrowly missing a hit that would cause utter destruction.

The rest of the way down was not very pleasant.

"I-I'm sorry," Lance said, rocking back and forth with his head on his knees. His eyes were glossy, and he avoided your eyes.

"H-Hey," you wrapped your arms around him, "I'm sorry, Lance. Th-That was a little harsh."

Lance shook his head, "No, you're right. I'm stupid."

"No, Lance, you are not stupid." You tried to give a soft smile, "You just want to save everyone, but you can't take every opportunity to do something heroic, okay?"

"But I'm a paladin! It's my responsibility to defeat the Galra empire!" Lance yelled, "I-I can't just stand on the side!"

You sighed, lying flat against the hill you were on. "You are not standing on the side. We were literally spying on them. You are doing great things, Lance. Don't forget that."

He hugged you, "Thanks... but I feel like I'm not doing enough."

"You're doing more than enough." You stroked the back of his head, something you did to calm him down sometimes. "But we are stranded on a planet, so..." You pulled your helmet on, one arm still around Lance. "Hey, guys, mission failed."

"Y/n, what happened?" Allura's voice came through.

You looked at Lance, "Um, we were spotted and intercepted by fighters. We are currently on the planet... Etzee...rile?"

"Ah! Etxeeryll!" Allura exclaimed, "We'll pick you up right away. Just hold on."

"Okay," you took off your helmet with your free hand. "See, Lance? Everything's fine." You smiled and wrapped your other arm back around the blue paladin.

"Everything's fine."
