All of the words that have named me
None of these words define me
But all of the words I'm assigned with
None of these words have anything to do with me
But this words are what they see me as
Isis, terrorist, rapist
Thoughts that are always in their heads
Thoughts that have never crossed my mind
But this is how they see me
This is what they think of me
Isis, terrorist, rapist, ragheads
Can't you see that these words hurt?
This isn't how I choose to appear to the world
Why can't they just accept me for what I am?
Why are you the one fearing me
When I am the one that should be scared of you
Why am o the one called terrorist
But I am also the one getting shot?
How can I be the terrorist
When I am the one being terrorized?
