— RICK HAD NEVER RAN SO FAST in his life. He knew that if he stopped moving forwards, that Zoe's life could possibly slip away, he didn't even know if she was alive at this point in time, all he was focused on, was getting her back to the farm that the stranger who shot the girl described; he claimed that he knew someone that could help her, that he was experienced in the veterinary sector. Rick didn't even ask him who the man was and stop to wonder if the man wasn't actually a murderer, before he set off in the direction of the farm, desperately wanting his daughter to stay alive and make it through this. He couldn't lose his own child, he would die before the day came.
"How far?! How far?!" Rick shouted back at the man in a panicked voice, as Carl piggy backed on Shane's back, crying his eyes out at the amount of blood that had soaked through Zoe's shirt and onto his dad's own shirt. He didn't know if his sister was going to make it or not, and he was terrified. He turned around slightly to look at the man who was being pushed roughly along by Shane, unable to keep up at the same pace as the others due to being unfit, and completely out of breath.
"Another half of a mile, that way!" He informed them, sounding breathless as he trailed behind, unable to keep up. Rick sped up at this information, knowing that Carl was in safe hands with Shane, and he could leave them with the unknown man, who didn't look like he would hurt any of them at any time. It was obvious that he hadn't meant to shoot Rick's daughter..
They all felt the burn in their legs as they kept pushing forwards, not stopping for anything, until they spotted the farm the man was talking about, and sped up once more. The closer they got, they spotted a figure near the front door of the home, watching them approach with wide eyes. A group of people then walked out onto the porch when they spotted Rick, with an unconscious teenage girl in his arms - it seemed surreal, having not met any other people since the beginning of the outbreak, the first being man with a bleeding teenager in his arms.
"Was she bit?" The elder man asked, who looked to be the leader. He was looking over at the blood that had also soaked Rick's own shirt from carrying his unconscious daughter, with a panicked look, unsure at why they had come here and how they even knew of this place. The blood from Zoe's stomach had completely soaked though her own clothes, as well as her trousers - Rick had never seen so much blood before, and he had worked as a cop before the world ended. He never even thought that he would have to see this much of his daughters blood.
"Shot. By your man." Rick cried, fully allowing himself to cry at the uncertainty of his daughters future. "Help her." He begged, "Help my daughter." He pleaded.
The old man nodded, allowing Rick to make his way up the porch and into the house, blood staining himself and his daughters clothes - she had lost a lot from the gunshot. As he was guided into another room, Rick carefully placed Zoe onto the bed, her head rolling to the side as he did so, indicating that she was fully unconscious, clearly not about to wake up any time soon. "Pillowcase." The man ordered Rick, stepping up to save this girls life.
