Hope's POV:

Once Hagrid is gone Hermione turns to us one more time. "Come on, everyone is so worried." She says, dragging us into Flourish and Blott's. It's extremely crowded in here and I know there is a special guest visiting today, but I have no idea who it could be to bring this many people here.

We finally see the Weasley family. "Oh Harry, Hope, thank goodness you two are alright." Molly says. "We're fine." I reassure the worried woman. "Of course." She says, attempting to dust us off. Then I hear a name called and her attention is pulled away from the two of us.

"Gilderoy Lockhart." Everyone in the crowded store cheers as a man with a spray tan and fake looking hair walks into the main area from the back. He starts talking and a photographer starts shoving through everyone when he sees Harry.

Then the scar headed boy is being dragged to the front of the shop to take a picture with this Gilderoy Lockhart person. When he gets back he gives his newly acquired books to Ginny and grabs my hand, walking towards the entrance of the shop.

Not before I give Molly money to pay for my books. "Bet you loved that, didn't you Potter. Famous Harry Potter, can't even go into a book shop with out making the front page." Draco Malfoy says, popping up in front of us. I glare. "Back off Malfoy." I snap.

"Oh look, you've gotten yourself a girlfriend." Malfoy says. "More than you'll ever have." I quip. He glares and goes to say something when a silver snake head appears on his shoulder. The snake head is attached to a cane belonging to a man with hair the color of Draco's.

Must be his father. "Now now Draco, play nicely. Ah, Mr. Potter. Lucius Malfoy. We meet at last." He stops talking and yanks Harry close to him. I stiffen, making sure he doesn't do anything to my best friend that I don't like.

"Pardon me, but your scar is legendary, almost as much as the wizard who gave it to you." Mr. Malfoy says. "Voldemort killed my parents. He was nothing more than a murderer." Harry says, getting out of the older Malfoy's grip and standing in front of me.

I grab his hand for comfort and he squeezes mine in appreciation. "You must be very brave to speak his name." Mr. Malfoy says. "Fear in the name only increases fear for the thing itself." I say confidently.

"Ah, you must be Miss Mikaelson. Yes, Draco has told me all about you. The Gryffindor Quidditch team Chaser. You're a pureblood and yet no one seems to know your last name. How peculiar." He says. I glare. No one talks about my parents like they do not matter.

"Just because you don't know who they are doesn't mean they're not important." I sneer. "Yes, of course." He mutters, eyeing me up like I am a threat. He turns his lip up in disgust at Hermione then glances at the Weasleys.

"Let me guess, red hair, vacant expressions, tacky, second hand books. You must be the Weasleys." He says, grabbing one of Ginny's books from her cauldron. "Children, it's crowded in here, let's go outside." Mr. Weasley says, walking up to us.

Thank God, he's saving us from this ignorant man's remarks. "Well, well, well. Weasley senior." "Lucius." Mr. Weasley greets. By this time I am one second away fro slapping him. But I have to remember that he is an adult and I am just a kid.

"Busy time at the Ministry, heard about all those extra raids. I do hope they are compensating you for your extra hours. But, from the looks of things, it appears they aren't. What's the use of being a disgrace to the name of wizards if they don't even pay you well for it?" He asks.

I'm going to hit him. I don't care if he's an adult. Lucius Malfoy is an Ass. "We have a very different idea about what disgraces the name of wizard Malfoy." Mr. Weasley says. I do a cheer for him inside my head.

"Clearly. Associating with Muggles. And I thought your family could sink no lower." Malfoy Sr. says, dropping Ginny's book back into her cauldron. "I'll see you at work." He says, and leaves. Little Malfoy gets into Harry's face. "See you at school." With that both Malfoys are gone.

"There's something up with that family. They're all asses." I say. Harry nods in agreement. After the whole Flourish and Blotts incident with he Malfoys we continue our school shopping. That night Hermione and Harry come back with us to the Burrow.

Hermione, Ginny, and I are sitting on my bed talking excitedly about the upcoming year. "I really hope I'm top of my year, I've been going over my brother's spell books all summer." Ginny says. "That's a good start." Hermione says, nodding encouragingly to the younger girl.

I smile at my two best friends, glad to have them in my life. I think back to how I was at this time last year and I cringe. I was dead set on shutting everyone out and not getting close to anyone. I shake my head at the thought.

I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have Harry, Hermione, and the Weasleys. They've changed my outlook on life completely. I start thinking a little more when I hear Hermione ask me something. "Are you ok Hope?" "What? Oh yes, I'm fine. Just thinking." I tell her.

"About what?" "Oh come on Hermione, you know what she's thinking about, or more like who." Ginny giggles. Hermione joins in. "I'm sorry, am I missing something here?" I ask the two. "You fancy Harry." Ginny blurts. My eyes widen.

"What? No I don't. He's my best friend besides you two Gin, nothing more." I tell them. "Oh sure. Don't think I didn't notice you two holding hands the entire time we were in Flourish and Blotts today." Ginny says. "What?! Hope is she telling the truth?" Hermione asks.

"I was only holding his hand to comfort him. I know I don't like it when people bring up my parents." I say. "Sure Hope, whatever you say." Ginny teases. "Whatever, I'm going to bed." I say. "Night Mrs. Potter." They both call, giggling.

I just roll my eyes before shutting them tightly, drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
