Hope's POV:

The rest of the week passes and this weekend is first Hogsmeade trip of the year. I'm super excited, but some of my excitement is dashed when Harry revealed that he blew up his Aunt Marge before he could get his Aunt or Uncle to sign it.

"No, Hope, go. Honestly, I'll be fine here." He tells me when I claim I'm not going to leave him here alone. "Nope, I've made up my mind. I'm staying and you can't change my mind." I say smirking at him. He glares at me playfully. "I'm serious Hope, go, have fun." He says.

"If you're not there I wouldn't be having fun, therefore I cannot do what you ask." "I highly doubt that." "No, it's true. Honestly, you're the life of the party. These two bicker too much to enjoy their company for too long." I joke. "We do not." Hermione and Ron say at the same time.

They glare at each other before turning back to Harry and I. "Why dton't you just ask McGonagall to sign it. Everyone on staff knows how horrible your aunt and uncle are. Maybe that'll warrant a special pass." Hermione suggest. "I don't think it's gonna work." Harry tells her.

"Well, there's nothing wrong with trying." I tell him. He looks at me and sighs. "Fine, I'll ask McGonagall, but only if you agree that if she can't sign it, you three will go and have fun." He says. I go to protest, but Harry stares me down. I sigh. "Fine, I promise." I grumble.

He laughs and throws an arm around my shoulder and the four of us walk to the front steps where all the third years are meeting with McGonagall before we head off to Hogsmeade. The older years have already left.

When we get there Ron, Hermione, and I go to stand over by the rest of the third years while Harry does to talk to McGonagall. It's not going well from his facial expression. They talk for a few more minutes before Harry backs away with a look of defeat on his face.

McGonagall turns and starts giving instructions to us before walking to the front of the group and leading us to Hogsmeade. Hermione, Ron, and I look back at Harry. "Go on guy, I'll be fine." He says. "You sure?" I ask. "Yeah, go." With that he walks back towards the castle.

Sighing I follow the other two as we try to catch up with the group. The trip is fun, but I can't bring myself to enjoy it fully. I really wish Harry were here. He'd love it. When we get back to the castle we meet up with Harry and Ron starts going on and on about how great Hogsmeade is.

Honestly, he could have the decency to not brag the Harry about it, seeing as he won't be able to go for the rest of the year at least. He's being rude and it's starting to get on my nerves slightly. Ok, a lot.

"Honeyduke's Sweets is great, but nothing beats Zonko's Joke Shop. We never did get a chance to go to the Shrieking Shack though. You've heard that it's-" "The most haunted building in Britain. Yeah, I know." Harry snaps.

I sigh and grab his hand from where it's clenched on the table. "After a while it got boring. Right?" I ask, glaring at the two across the table. "Yeah." Hermione agrees. "What? Boring? No. Only Hope seemed like she didn't want to be there." He says. I kick him under the table.

"Oh, yeah. Dead depressing. Oh, hang on. I almost forgot. I got you something wicked at Dervish and Banges." Ron says, going through his bags. He hands Harry the item. "It's a pocket Sneak-a-Scope. If there's anyone untrustworthy around, it's meant to light up and spin"

I glare at Ron, knowing what he's about to say. "I thought, it can't hurt, knowing that-" "Sirius Black's trying to kill me?" Harry asks. I squeeze his hand again. "I'm really glad you had a good time. Honestly, and thanks for this. You're right, can't hurt." He says.

"Hope, didn't you get him something as well?" Ron asks. I roll my eyes. "Thanks Ron." Hermione hauls Ron to his feet. "Come on, let's leave them two." She says. With that she drags him out of the Great Hall. Harry turns to me, curious. "You got me something?"

"Yeah, I was gonna give it to you later, but big mouth over there kind of ruined the surprise." I say. He smiles at me as I dig through my bags. I finally find what I'm looking for and pull it out. It's a lapis lazuli orb. "What is it?" He asks.

"It's the same stone as the necklaces I gave the three of you for Christmas our first year, but it's spelled with a comfort charm. Every time you holding it to your chest it's supposed to calm you." I say, looking down. "Hey, I love it. Thank you." He says. I look back up at him and smile softly.

"You do?" "Yeah, I've been needing something like this." He says. I grin, glad he doesn't hate them. "Also, you know I wouldn't have been mad at you if you had fun on the trip, right?" He asks. I smile. "I know, but it wasn't as fun as it could have been if you were there."

"You don't know that." "Oh I do. Trust me. I have the most fun when the four of us are all together. When one is missing it's...different." I say, trying to find the word to describe it. He smiles at me.

"Well, I guess you're just gonna have to get used to the feeling of 'different'." He says. "Don't count on it. If I have to I'm taking that slip over Christmas break and forcing the Dursley's to sign it." I tell him. He laughs at this.

"Ok, well, while you're planning the demise of my relatives we should probably go find Ron and Hermione." I nod. "Who knows, maybe they've gotten over their differences and aren't trying to kill each other yet." I say. "Maybe, but we don't want to push out luck."

Laughing the two of us get out of our seats and leave the great hall. Thing was, we never dropped each other's hands.
