I clung onto Pavel as I limped into the cave, stuck on a desolate planet because the people of the planet had been gifted ancient guns, we couldn't figure out the make but I could feel the bullet lodged in my hip.
Pavel was clearly upset, we had been married for a year at this point.
Before Pavel, I was the reckless one choosing to go on the most dangerous missions, to always be the one who fought back.
Old habits die hard apparently as the moment their leader raised his gun, I jumped in front of Pavel taking the bullet for him.
I felt the rush of my old life again as we ran away, that exhilaration fizzled very fast as Pavel leaned me against a rock.
"You are such an idiot some times"
His voice cracked as he attempted to start caring for my wound.
"And I'm supposed to let my love take a bullet?"
He tried to laugh but it was weak at best.
I felt my self slowly fade in and out of consciousness, as the hours passed I was only aware of Pavels voice
"Just get some rest y/n, we'll be back on the ship soon enough"
Somehow on cue I fell asleep.
When I woke up again I was being carried on a stretcher
"You're awake"
Pavels Voice rang in my ears as I awoke
"Can you be a little quieter?"
I asked probably sounding meaner than I meant to.
"I love you любимый (darling)" Pavel laid down next to me adjusting to my side.
"I love you too"
