"Kang Man-ok."

The woman smiled. "I thought you were one of those professionals who work around here."

Baek Jang-mi appraised the woman beside her. "I thought you were dead."

Kang Man-ok gave a menacing laugh. "Blunt as always. Were we all supposed to die just because you left? You overestimate yourself."

"I was the best in the group," Jang-mi declared. Throwing away her ice cream because the current company she kept made her lose interest, she asked, "What do you need?"

"Who says I need anything?"

Baek Jang-mi rolled her eyes. "I doubt you showed your face to me just to say hi and catch up about old times."

"Fine. We need your skills," Kang Man-ok said, staring at the citizens going around the street, minding their own business.

"Why should I care?" Jang-mi asked.

"Because our new partner would kill Min Tae Gu if you don't help."

Jang-mi stared at the woman, narrowing her eyes. "You're seriously threatening that man? He'll kill you all before you even make a move."

Kang Man-ok gave a shrill laugh. "He can't kill the enemy if he doesn't know who it is."

Baek Jang-mi crossed her arms and smiled sweetly. "But he can kill you."

"Sure. Then, there will be someone else they'll partner with. Best to help us now and get it over with," Kang Man-ok said. Handing her a note, "Meeting place, date and time. We'll give you details then. And make sure you're ready to stay with us for a little while."

Min Tae Gu could tell something was bugging her that night.

When he arrived at the restaurant she picked for dinner, Baek Jang-mi was just staring out the window with a frown on her forehead. Kissing her cheek, he asked, "Hi. Are you alright?"

"Yes, I just have a headache," she replied quietly.

"Do you want to just head home? I can cook," Min Tae Gu said.

"No, no. Let's eat here then head home," she replied. She was quiet throughout dinner and when they arrived home, she showered and headed straight to bed, not even seducing him for that night.

When he joined her, she was still awake. Turning on her side to hug him and curl on his side, but she remained preoccupied with her thoughts.

"Do you want to have pasta tomorrow for dinner?" he asked.

"Okay," she answered.

"How about breakfast?"

"Okay," she said again, making Min Tae Gu roll his eyes but she didn't notice.

"I burned your photo cards with the actor's signature," he said next.

"Okay," she said once more.

Pushing her in bed so that she lay on her back, Jang-mi shrieked as she was caged in Tae Gu's arms. "Can you please tell me what's wrong?"

"Nothing!" she lied.

Rolling his eyes at her, "Do you swear?"

"Yes!" she replied, adamantly.
