Spellbound - 4

"How was the date?"

Kang Yeo-ri was surprised to receive the call from Jung Ji-ho that weekend, the night after she arrived home from her date he had set up. "Isn't tonight the first day of the shoot?"

"Yes, but we have a break right now since we need to set up a few cameras," Jung Ji-ho explained. "So? How was it?"

"He was nice," Yeo-ri stated. "I'm not sure we hit it off, though."

"Why not?"

"There were moments that we were just quiet," Yeo-ri said. "Is that normal for first dates?"

Jung Ji-ho, who had not been in a date for awhile, had to think back to a long time ago. "I think so. I heard that if it's not a 'bad' date, then you should at least go on a second one to make a solid opinion on it."

"Really?" Yeo-ri asked, frowning. "Who said that?"

Jung Ji-ho chuckled. "I don't know," he admitted. "But it sounds like good advice, don't you think?"

Kang Yeo-ri bit her lip at she thought about it. "I don't know. Have you followed this advice?"

"Uh, well... no," he admitted, his discomfort making Yeo-ri laugh. "If I enjoyed the first date, I'd call again immediately. If not, I would not bother to contact her again."

Yeo-ri clucked her tongue. "So you're not a nice person."

"Yah! I am," he defended. "But I am... sometimes conceited and too full of myself."

Kang Yeo-ri laughed at that self-deprecating comment. "You're funny."

They shared a laugh. Once their chuckles died down, Ji-ho said, "I'm sorry that the first candidate was not good for you. I'll  find another one."

"You better," Kang Yeo-ri teased. "Or else I'm sabotaging your film."

Ji-ho laughed. "We made edits to the script. Do you want to see? You should come by when you're free!"

Yeo-ri was excited about that. "Can I? Would that be okay?"

"Yes, I'll message you our locations this week and you can let me know when you want to visit," he told her. A voice was heard from a distance and Ji-ho said, "I have to go now."

"Go. Don't let me keep you."

"Okay. Have a good night, Kang Yeo-ri-ssi!"

"Good night, Directornim."

"I have your second date for you."

Kang Yeo-ri smiled into the phone upon hearing from Jung Ji-ho first thing on Monday. "You called this early just to say that?"
