The following week was spent doing various "normal" things.

Min Tae Gu went to the shop during the day. They alternated preparing food. Some days, Min Tae Gu would cook and leave food for Jang-mi while he was out; some days it was Jang-mi who cooked and packed his lunches.

On certain days, Baek Jang-mi would join him to work, wander off at the shopping district to explore, run errands or meet her friends, then come back so they could head home together.

On other days, she preferred to stay home and research on a few things: places where they could go on trips, the university requirements she needed to accomplish and the procedure for adoption.

The more she looked into to the, the more worried she became. Understandably, there would be background checks to make sure the child goes to a safe home. Background checks meant their records would come up and their application would most likely be rejected.

Still, she was determined to try.

Her spirits were lifted when Min Tae Gu arrived home one day holding up unfamiliar tickets. "Surprise! I got us VIP passes to the theme park. Do you want to go this weekend?"

"OH MY GOODNESS! Yes!" Jang-mi exclaimed, hugging him. "You kept your promise!"

"Of course."

Pulling back from the embrace, she looked at the tickets again. "Why are there so many?"

"I thought you'd like to invite your friends to come along," he said.

"Oh, but it might be too late to ask. Weekend is in two days. They might already have plans," she replied.

"I asked them last week."

Jang-mi's eyes widened. "Oh my! And? Will they go?" When he nodded, she squealed again. Taking the tickets from him, she hopped away intent on chatting with the ahjummas on weekend plans.

"Hey! I don't even get a kiss?" Min Tae Gu asked.

"Oh!" Jang-mi quickly ran back and pressed her lips to his. "Thank you! I love you!"

When she was safely in their room, Min Tae Gu took out the box in his pocket and stared at the item he has customised.

He was nervous and excited about this weekend.

What Baek Jang-mi didn't know is that their tickets to the theme park came with another surprise.

"He has a mini fan event there?! And we could get in?!" she shrieked when she discovered the extra tickets inside the envelope. "OH MY GOD!"

"That's why I asked your friends if they wanted to go," he told her, smiling as he watched Jang-mi jumping up and down their couch. "Yah! That's going to break if you keep that up."

"That's okay. Check the YoungLim catalogue. I'm sure your favorite actress is endorsing a couch," she answered, still giddy about the tickets.

Laughing, he reminded her, "Hey, I better still have a girlfriend after that event."

"You better just buy the couch and not take home the actress along with it."

Catching each other's gaze, they started laughing, secure in the knowledge that they would come home and be with each other no matter what.

Saturday could not come soon enough.

Baek Jang-mi did not sit still in the car. She looked forward to everything -- her friends, the theme park and the fan meet. This day was going to be unforgettable, she was certain.
