One day earlier. The battle had concluded as the militia ran the Bandits and Mercenaries out of town.

Their numbers were nearly halved; it drew a heavy toll and a dreadful sigh from Raven.

"We didn't need this attention." She hissed with a deep scowl. "Now the Rangers and Atlas will be after us, including Y/N!"

"You really believe he's some kinda immortal ghost?" Marcus asked with a chuckle; he immediately hissed in pain as he tended to a bullet hole in his thigh. He then curled his fingers with a wide grin. "The Revenant."

"Unlike you, I took the time to know him."

She approached the seated man in a series of long strides where she stood within arm's length.

Raven ignored the tensed muscles of Marcus' comrades. "Even if there's a sliver of a chance that he lived, he will find us."

"I put two in him, no way he's-"

"Did you even bother to check?" Raven growled. She had heard the legends floating around her old friend, and she was wise enough never to doubt a fairy tale.

"Why?" Marcus shrugged. "Who cares?! He's dead!"

Her patience running dry, Raven asked again. "Did you check?"

Frowning with an unamused grunt, Marcus looked Raven dead in the eyes.

"No."

The woman sighed as her eyes averted to the distant burning town. She dropped her stare with a palm on her forehead.

"What's got your panties in a bunch?" Marcus asked with a scoff. "Don't tell me you actually cared for the guy!"

"No." She replied firmly and with a pointed finger. "I don't care. What I do care about is you killing his wife."

"She had it coming honestly-"

"You don't seem to know who you're dealing with." Raven's eyes narrowed as she kneeled to his height. "So let me clue you in. Y/N is worth four of you. He was a warrior with sheer will and utter determination. But you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"

Earning a deep glare from Marcus, Raven continued.

"He was trained to hunt humans well before he hunted the Grimm. He had no issue with executing men in the middle of the streets, nor did he ever care... The only person keeping him in check was that woman, the woman you killed. Now there's no telling what he'll do next."

She stared him down, uncaring if she hurt his ego or embarrassed him in front of his friends.

She stood with a small sigh. "That man... he'll stop at nothing until we're all dead."

Turning her back to him, she left with all that she had to muster. She needed to make a plan to preserve the remainder of her Tribe.

Y/N stalked the forest with an unstoppable march. His lack of armor only propelled his speed and tracking.

His gold eyes scanned the forestry as his sharp nose caught the scent of burnt wood. He was close.

He took Lex Talionis from his hip, deployed the soot-covered blades, and ripped it in half with a sharp clang.

His eyes were forward and shadowed under a deep glare. Their beastly irises held anger and an unwavering determination.

Voices could soon be heard with a crackling fire. He knew he would catch them off guard as he smelt the steam of a boiling stew.

There were lookouts posted out front, seven to be exact. They had downcast eyes, possibly from losing a mutual friend today.
