💖Late Night - Dojae

It was late at night, a heavy thunderstorm whirling outside. The rain came down hard on jaehyun's windows making a soothing environment to sleep to. He was curled up comfortably in his bed tired after a long day at university. He was soon fast asleep the thunder in the distance calming him.

It was just around 3 AM when there was a knock on jaehyun's door. At first he thought it was in his dream until he heard it again making his eyes peel open in the pitch-black room, the rain still pouring outside.

He checked the time and got up confused as to who could be at his house this late.

He threw on his sweatpants not bothering to grab his shirt and rushed down the stairs towards his door.

He flicked on a lamp illuminated the small doorway before he opened the door and gasped.

Standing on his porch was Kim Doyoung soaking wet with tears dripping down his face.

Jaehyun was instantly snapped out of his sleepy haze seeing his boyfriend looking so upset right in front of him.

"doyoung?! Babe it's pouring, get in here." he said still a little In disbelief as he gently grabbed doyoung's arm.

Doyoung's face crumpled and he stumbled forward crashing into jaehyun's chest, a loud painful sob leaving his lips.

Jaehyun felt the cold rain-soaked boy collide with him he flinched slightly just at the cold wetness but immediately got over it and wrapped doyoung up in a hug.

"baby? What's going on youngie? What happened?" he whispered as he closed the door.

Doyoung didn't answer he just continued to cry.

Jaehyun sighed softly running his fingers through doyoung's wet hair.

"shhhh, shhhh, honey take a breath for me okay?"

Doyoung's chest pulsed as he tried to calm himself down enough to take in a deep breath.

"there you go baby...you're doing great youngie. It's okay, I'm here with you."

Doyoung cried into his chest until they calmed a little.

"come with me baby, let's get you out of these wet clothes okay?" jaehyun whispered placing a soft kiss to doyoung's temple.

He wrapped his arm around doyoung's shoulders and led him upstairs to his bedroom. He clicked on the light and tried not to frown at his boyfriends sad face.

"sit down honey, I'll get you some clothes."

Doyoung carefully sat on jaehyun's bed on a towel so he wouldn't get his bedding wet.

Jaehyun quickly grabbed a pair of dry boxers, sweatpants, and a sweatshirt. He walked over to doyoung and knelt in front of him giving him a sympathetic smile.

"raise your arms love."

Doyoung hesitated not wanting to be treated like a child but raised his arms regardless.

Jaehyun gently peeled doyoung's wet shirt off and quickly replaced it with he sweatshirt being quick so doyoung wouldn't be cold.

He did the same with his pants and tossed them into his hamper before he took a towel and dried doyoung's hair. He sat beside him on the bed after he finished pulling him into a side hug.

"thank you Jae..." he said softly, his voice quiet and broken from crying.

"hey, don't mention it okay? Now, do you wanna tell me what happened?"

Doyoung sniffled and nodded.

"so...so i...I had a fight with my parents..." he started wiping his nose on his sleeve.

Jaehyun immediately knew what happened as this wasn't the first time doyoung and his parents had gotten into a fight.

"aish I'm sorry baby, what was it about this time?"

"well...it started with an argument about my grades...I got a B on my last midterm, and they were not happy about it...then it spiraled into me dating you...they think you're some kind of bad influence, they're convinced that you're the reason my grade slipped, and I tried to explain to them that your grades are better than mine but...they never listen."

Jaehyun nodded in understanding slowly rubbing doyoung's thigh.

"it just...it turned into a screaming match like always...they...they threatened to kick me out...called me a bunch of names and i...I just couldn't take it anymore! So I ran out of the house and...and came here...I'm sorry for just showing up like this Jae I just...I didn't know where else to go..."

"no baby, it's okay! You are always welcome here you know that. You are always allowed to come here. But baby, why didn't you call me? I would've come and gotten you."

"I didn't have my phone...it's still upstairs in my room..."

"aish baby I'm so sorry...I know how hard it is with you and your parents...I'm sorry they treat you so badly."

"I just...I wanna get out of that house...but I don't have enough money to move out, my job only provided enough for me to keep up with tuition..."

Jaehyun pulled doyoung into his chest in a warm soft hug.

"baby?"

Doyoung hummed against his chest.

"why don't you just come live with me?"

Doyoung's eyes went wide. He sat up and looked at jaehyun in disbelief.

"no...Jae...Jae I couldn't ask you to do that...we've only been together for a year...I don't wanna impose on you."

"doyoung, look at me."

Doyoung looked into jaehyun's warm dark eyes.

"I love you so much you know that don't you?" he placed his hand on doyoung's cheek.

Doyoung nodded.

"you wouldn't be imposing on me, in fact, I would love to have you live with me youngie...I would get to see you every day, I could sleep next to you, I could cook for you and listen to your stories and spend hours cuddling you, it sounds like a dream come true."

Doyoung's eyes filled with water again as he stared into jaehyun's eyes.

"are you sure?"

Jaehyun leaned forward pressing their foreheads together.

"I'm positive my love."

Doyoung smiled, a few more tears dripping down his cheeks.

Jaehyun reached up and wiped his cheeks with his thumbs.

"oh honey...don't cry, it's okay." He cooed softly.

"I'm sorry I just...I'm so happy to finally get out of that house...and to...to live with you..."

Jaehyun chuckled softly kissing doyoung's cheek.

"I love you doyoung, you always have me okay? Remember that."

"I love you too jaehyun...thank you so much."

"you're so welcome baby."

Jaehyun leaned in and kissed doyoung sweetly.

Doyoung kissed back his tears finally stopping.

When they broke apart they smiled at each other.

"let's get some sleep hm?"

Doyoung nodded letting jaehyun lay him down under the covers. He cuddled up behind him wrapping his arm around his waist and snuggling his face into doyoung's shoulder pressing soft kisses to his shoulder.

"we'll go get your stuff tomorrow okay? Get some sleep baby, I love you."

"okay Jae, I love you too."

They kissed one more time before they both layed down and fell asleep.
