Mira had been feeling a little lost and lonely in the empty house for the past few days. Tonks George and Fred had all been friendly when they had time away from work, but she wanted to talk to Dumbledore. He had been absent for the past few days, and she missed her family and found herself overthinking Sirius' death and Draco's future more than she liked. On the very last day of the holidays, Mira was lying on her bed reading an old book she'd found in the library when she heard a knock on her bedroom door. "Come in," she called out, a little louder than she'd intended. Dumbledore walked in, carrying a couple of envelopes. "Finally, you've come," Mira said with relief, sitting up straight on the bed. "I thought you'd forgotten about me.", He handed her the letters and sat beside her. "Booklist," he said. "They know you're here?" Mira asked.
Dumbledore smiled. "It's nearly one in the morning. Only the eldest know that I'm here," he said. She nodded with a smile and held up the letters, her eyes twinkling. "I was so worried when I didn't get my letter and everyone else did. I wanted to talk to you about it."
Dumbledore chuckled. "You don't look like you were worried at all, Ms. Vain," he said in a teasing tone.
Mira rolled her eyes, but couldn't help the smile that crept onto her face. "Really?"

...

That night went weirdly many things happened that night but she didn't go downstairs not a single time after Dumbledore left her in the night, she just lay on her bed she didn't feel sleepy and then suddenly she remembered she didn't buy anything from the list Dumbledore should buy her all the thing and gave not that list in the night.

She woke up by a hard knock on her door and heard Ginny's voice saying "Get up if you don't want to miss the train" then she heard her footstep fade, she woke up and something dropped from her bed she saw next other was a pile of new stuff books, dress robe, etc.
Mira hurriedly got up and started to pack her staff as fast as she could when she heard Mrs. Black's voice from downstairs screaming loudly,

"- COULD HAVE DONE HER A SERIOUS INJURY, YOU IDIOTS -" "- FILTHY HALF-BREEDS, BESMIRCHING THE HOUSE OF MY FATHERS -"
She hurriedly and recklessly everything put in her trunk and changed into blue jeans and a white top when she heard Mrs. Weasley shout from downstairs "WILL YOU LOT GET DOWN HERE NOW, PLEASE!" She started to drag her trunks out of the room and looked at the stairs impossibly "Oh! God help me" She started to get down with her trunk but it was so hard for her to do that faster, She got one floor down when she saw Remus Lupin coming to her, he looked at her situation and took her trunk and said, "your hair is a mess" she brushed her hair with her fingers they both got downstairs and surprisingly Mrs. Black's portrait was howling with rage got quite,
"You with me," said Mr. Weasley to her Harry and Mrs. Weasley went out first then they exited She was with Ron and Hermione and took a muggle car to go to the King's Cross. Everyone met there and said goodbye to each other. Then they entered the train
After Fred and George left them she heard Harry "Shall we go and find a compartment, then?" Harry asked Ron and Hermione.
Ron and Hermione were exchanging awkward glances while Harry looked from one to the other, not quite sure what to make of the situation.
Hermione cleared her throat and said, "We're - well - Ron and I are supposed to go into the perfect carriage." Ron still wasn't looking at Harry and seemed to be intensely interested in his fingernails.
"Oh," Harry said. "Right. Fine."
"You can go with them," Hermione said to him, trying to lighten the mood.
Mira gave them a polite smile and said, "Well, I am leaving too. You know, the Slytherin compartment."
Ginny stepped forward and said, "Come on, if we get a move on we'll be able to save them places." She was just about to go when they heard Cedric's voice calling out for Mira. They stopped and looked back to see Cedric jogging over to them. He smiled at Mira and said, "You know I've been waiting for you. All this time. Why are you all late?" He glanced at Harry's confused face. "Come on, I saved a seat for you."
Mira gave Harry a quick smile and then pushed her trunk towards Cedric. Ginny rolled her eyes and said, "You go, Harry. I have to find someone." Harry hesitated for a moment before saying, "Are you sure?"
Ginny nodded. "Yeah, you go."
Harry gave a nod dragged his trunk and followed Cedric and Mira to the carriage. He glanced back at Ginny before she disappeared behind the doors. He couldn't help but feel a bit awkward without Ron and Hermione. Mira and Cedric seemed to move in sync talking with each other, their strides perfectly matched, while Harry felt slightly out of place as he trailed after them.
Mira, feeling a bit confused, asked Cedric, "Don't tell me you're leading us to the Prefect's compartment. You know Harry and I aren't Prefects." Harry just noticed that he leading them in the same way Ron and Hermione went. "Yeah me too," Cedric replied. "It's my last year at Hogwarts, so I can't be perfect either. But I can show you something much better!"
Mira shot him a skeptical look as they led them to the door with the words 'Prefect' written clearly on it. However, Cedric didn't go inside instead he opened the door of the last compartment before that door and said, "This compartment doesn't belong to the Prefects, so don't worry too much. Just relax!"
Harry followed suit, lowering the trunk into the carriage before sitting down. Cedric closed the door behind him and sat beside Mira and the train began to move. Harry sat in front of them and Cedric cleared his throat before saying, "So, how did your holidays go?"
Harry and Mira answered in unison: "Good!", but their expressions told different stories. Cedric looked at them and said with a smile "Mine was also good".
"Harry, are you alright?" Cedric asked with concern. Mira also looked at Harry with concern, She asked him, "Are you feeling uncomfortable about being away from your friends?"
"No," Harry shook his head. "It's just new, sitting here with you guys instead of them."
Cedric smiled softly, his eyes twinkling with understanding. "I get it. No pressure," Cedric chuckled before saying, "It's okay to explore the unknown, Harry. And who knows, you might actually find something more interesting than what you expected!"
Mira rolled her eyes before reaching for a Muggle novel. But before she could open it, Cedric grabbed it from her hands and said "Let's talk instead!" Mira was too surprised to argue, she rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but smile. She knew that Cedric just wanted to make conversation. "Sure," she said, "What would you like to talk about?" Harry looked away from them he felt a sudden jolt of jealousy looking at them, he stared out of the window thinking but Cedric's words jolted Harry out of his reverie. It was then that Harry noticed Mira's face staring at Cedric, waiting for a reply.
"Dumbledore told me and my father to protect me and themselves," Cedric said. 'The next day, I read in the Daily Prophet that some dementors had tried to attack Harry. When I asked my father what was going on, he didn't tell me anything. Do you guys know anything?"
Mira was the first to speak, breaking the silence. "Do you know how Fleur is?"
"I wrote her a letter to know how she is doing," Cedric replied. "She wrote me back that she is alright and busy with work. I also wrote letters to you both, but I didn't get any replies."
Harry was intrigued. "Ron told me that Fleur is working with his elder brother, Bill," he said.
Cedric nodded. "Yes, that's true. I hope she's doing alright and managing the workload."
Suddenly the compartment door burst open; they saw Draco standing in the door, wearing his school robes. He looked at them before turning his gaze to Mira and asked, "Can we talk?" Mira merely replied, "Everyone wants to talk," in a bored tone but nevertheless stood from her seat and followed Draco outside the compartment. Draco closed the compartment door behind them after which he turned to look at her. Mira was already glaring at him, but in his eyes, she looked like a small, angry kitten and he couldn't help but feel a little love for her. He wanted to reach out to her to hug her, pat her head, touch her hair lovingly, and pinch her cheeks, but he knew it was not the time to think of such things. He first had to apologize to her. "Say something," Mira spat at him, her gaze never leaving his eyes. "How are you?" Draco asked her, meekly. She simply asked, "What do you think?" with an angry expression on her face. "Angry with me," Draco said, taking a slight step forward. "Yes I am," was her reply. "I am an... idiot," Draco admitted with a sigh. Mira merely said, "Definitely," before turning away from him. "I am... sorry," Draco stammered apologetically, taking a step closer to her. She immediately stepped back from him, her back touching the metal wall of the train. There was only one step separating them now. "I am not a good boy... maybe. And sometimes I become an idiot, but you said you weren't going to leave me, even if I wanted," he said, his voice forgotten as he locked his gaze with hers. Mira took a deep breath, then said, "I am taking my words back, Mr. Malfoy." She pushed him aside lightly and entered the compartment. Harry and Cedric looked at her, surprised. Mira then sat next to Cedric, while Draco also entered the compartment and took the seat next to her. "Hey, you know I didn't mean what I said that day, I am just being..." Draco began, but he was cut off by Mira. "Being a selfish arrogant brat, I know that, very well," she said, her voice filled with exasperation. "Yeah, maybe..." Draco said, hesitating for a moment. "Maybe... huh!" Mira exclaimed, rolling her eyes. Draco sighed and looked into her eyes with a pleading expression. "Please forgive me," he asked meekly.
Mira looked away from Draco and crossed her arms. Draco got up from the seat glanced at Cedric and Harry then looked at her and said "I have to go back" he waited for her reaction but she didn't even look at him "For Prefect duties, we will talk later"
Draco hesitated for a moment, but he knew he had to go. He nodded at Cedric, then turned back to Mira. "I'll see you later," he said, and with that, he left the compartment. Mira watched as he left, and her anger began to dissipate. She looked over at Harry and Cedric, and let out a deep sigh. "That boy," she said, shaking her head. "He can be so frustrating at times." Harry and Cedric both nodded in agreement. "I think He certainly has a knack for getting on your nerves," Harry said. "But I think he really does care about you, Mira," Harry said and then that thought crossed his mind as to why he even said something in their matter, Mira smiled. "Maybe," she said. "But I'm still mad at him. I just wish he could understand that sometimes, he needs to think before he speaks." Cedric chuckled. "Well, I'm sure he'll learn eventually. He's got plenty of time to figure it out." Mira nodded and turned her gaze out the window. She knew deep down that Draco was trying his best to be a better person, and that made her heart swell with hope. She knew that eventually, he'd get it right.
