Tensions were still high surrounding the sudden change of custody agreement with Taylor. Kross hadn't bother to speak to her over the course of days, he still couldn't believe how she came at him about his past. She was right though, Kross was dependent on pain killers at some point in his life. At the time, he didn't know why he did it, but he knew it made him feel better. "Remember when you were addicted, too" Taylor's words replayed in his head.

"Don't drown the spoons now bae." Destiny joked, walking into the kitchen. He hadn't realize that he was still standing at the sink with the water running. "My fault." He chuckled, rinsing the spoons off. "You alright?" She asked. Kross dried his hands before turning to face his wife. "Taylor said some shit to me that kind of brought up some disappointment." He was honest. Destiny's eyebrows frowned.

Kross signaled for her to take a seat at the table. Darnell and his girlfriend had taken the kids to the park, and the house was dead silent. He found now more better of a time to live in his truth. "You know how everybody got a past?" He stared off at nothing in particular. She nodded. "I used to be addicted to percocets. I wasn't hiding this part of my past from you, but I'm damn sure not proud of it." He said, his voice full of sadness. Destiny was rooted to her seat, she almost wasn't able to comprehend what Kross had disclosed.

Although she knew he was very much clean now, his words were still hard to hear. "Why did you feel like you couldn't tell me sooner?" She looked deeply into his eyes. Kross took her hand in his palm, "It wasn't that at all, babe. I don't know... you know once you move past something and don't dwell on it afterwards, it was that kind of situation." He expressed. She believed her husband.

"I understand, and I'm not judging you for it. Everyone has a past that in some way, molds them to be the person they are today." Those words made Kross remember why Destiny is his safe space. He could live in his truth without being criticized about it. "I appreciate you." He gently touched her cheek with the pad of his thumb. She tenderly kissed his thumb. "So, does that mean Taylor is going to try and use this against you if push comes to shove?" Destiny was worried.

Kross sighed, shaking his head. "I would hope not, but you never know." He was planning to prepare himself for an ugly custody battle, which he tried to avoid for the sake of Skylar. "Well, if Taylor decides to open those can of worms then she'll also have to open a can of her own. Let's not forget she's the reason Sky's day-to-day living got disrupted to begin with." It was the bitter truth Taylor constantly got reminded of. "That's real." Kross nodded.

"Either way, I'm lawyered up for when the time comes. I ain't sweating Taylor and her gimmicks, for now." He added. There was way more important flowers worth watering. Destiny was approaching her final trimester, Kross wanted to enjoy these last months of her carrying, he knew it'd be a long wait before they added to their family again. His stare on her broke when he got a camera alert on his phone. He excused himself, going to answer the front door.

He signed for the delivery, thanking the young dude standing before him. He held the box behind his back on the way back to the kitchen. "Who was it?" Destiny questioned. "For you." He smirked, bringing a box of white chocolate covered fruits from behind his back. She blushed uncontrollably, like a high school girl with a crush. "Thank you, baby." His small gestures always warmed her heart. She waisted no time digging into the box of treats. "I hope you're not trying to bribe me into picking that name you thought of for our daughter," She mugged. Kross laughed.

"I'd do such thing." He replied. After finding out the sex of their baby, Destiny grew excited. She wanted to experience being a full on girl mom, and she thought it was a perfect balance. Kross, on the other hand, was taken back at first. He swore the baby was going to be another boy, but he quickly adjusted to the idea. Although he was already a girl dad, he was looking forward to the hands on involvement in his second daughters life.

It was going on two in the afternoon, Destiny was getting ready to head out. She was due for a check-in with Dr. Carina. As she drove to the office, her mind was at ease. There wasn't plenty to stress over these days and she could appreciate that. Almost thirty-minutes later, she had arrived to her appointment. Dr. Carina gave her a warm welcome like she always did every time they met.

Destiny took notice to the slight changes in her office and smiled. "I love the new touches," she complimented. Dr. Carina thanked her while issuing a friendly smile. "So, Destiny, we're getting closer to the end of our sessions." Carina sat down in her chair, crossing one leg over the other. She was proud of Destiny's growth since the start of therapy. "I know, it's surreal." Destiny responded with a wholesome smile. That bittersweet day would soon come. "How are you feeling about the progress you've made so far?"

"I feel amazing," Destiny was beaming. "Remembering where I started versus the person I am today is... fulfilling." It felt like a relief to say. She never thought she'd reach this place of security. "Celebrate it because it is an accomplishment." Dr. Carina encouraged, "You opened up and put yourself through obstacles that a lot of other people wouldn't have had the patience to work through."

For the remainder of the session, they discussed what Destiny's life would soon look like without weekly visits with her therapist. She was worried about too many what ifs. Dr. Carina reassured her that she now had all the tools and could apply them to her life accordingly when needed. Destiny had pictured their session to be a little while longer, but to her surprise, there wasn't much left to unfold.

It was then she realized that she was no longer the little girl who needed a hug. With therapy, She'd learn to truly heal from situations she couldn't fix. She was at composure from the trauma her mother and father had caused the family, as well as herself. Being at peace means being free of stress, worries, and anxiety. You find yourself in the state of balance and absolute bliss. It's the simplest state of being to describe, but the hardest one to achieve.
