Trust and intimacy made us one . Love and loyalty kept us together . But sometimes , things are just too good to be true .
Officially in her second trimester and out of the clear for any complications, Destiny and Kross decided to announce the news of their baby. Being the public figure Destiny is, everyone was reposting the great news, congratulating her. The couple even made a few blog pages. She thought people would be a lot more judgmental, but there was no negativity directed when she posted a photo of her baby bump with a small caption.
Of course she was worried about what this would mean for her modeling contract and all the other sponsorships she has brewing but, to her surprise, the news of her pregnancy only sparked more business deals for her. One company even reached out to her to see if she would be interested in modeling they're maternity spring collection. Doors were being opened. Life for Destiny in one word— fantastic.
Today, Destiny invited her family over for a dinner with she and Kross. All her siblings were finally free, she even invited their mama, who was still doing well with her recovery. One-year and three-months sober for Trina came as a shock to all four of her children. When Destiny shared her pregnancy with the members of her family, everyone had a different reaction. She told her second oldest sister, Deedra, first.
Deedra was very excited to hear she was going to be an Aunt. She swore the family needed to expand but she wasn't gonna be the one to make it happen. She also swore that Destiny was having a girl, and that the baby would be 80% hers; 20% it's mommy and daddy. Destiny then shared the news with her baby sister, Lani, who wasn't expecting her big sister to be pregnant being that she thought Destiny was in the prime of her life. Nonetheless, she was happy.
Destiny saved Darnell for last and like always, his reaction and response was dramatic yet hilarious. Destiny FaceTimed him with Kross in the room, telling her brother about the news of a baby. Darnell literally hung up the phone then called back asking to speak with his sister because there was no way the Destiny he was speaking to could be pregnant. Kross eventually confirmed what Destiny had shared after minutes of him not buying a word his sister said.
He too, was happy for the couple. Darnell promised he would be over they're house every weekend to teach his niece or nephew how to play basketball as soon as the baby turned one. All-in-all, her family showed the full support Destiny needed. Walking into the dining room, Destiny set the table with the brand new plates and silverware set she ordered. She was thrilled to see her family since it's been a while since they were all together.
"I got it." Kross stopped her, picking up the pan of ribs. "You go get ready, I'll finish setting the table." He assured, pecking her lips. Destiny nodded, thanking him for the help. She walked to their bedroom, stripping out of her clothes for a shower. When she got out, she wasted no time getting ready. She oiled her skin, sliding into a black, off-the-shoulder maxi dress that had her round baby bump on full display.

Exactly twenty-three weeks pregnant, Destiny was starting to enjoy her pregnancy. She finally stopped having morning sickness and weird food cravings for things she wouldn't even eat on the regular. Spraying herself in floral by Gucci, she gave her self a one over in the full body mirror before leaving the bedroom. The doorbell went off as soon as she got to the living room.
She looked on the camera monitor, seeing Deedra and Lani. Destiny swung the door open, exhilarated to see her sisters. She pulled both of them into a tight hug before welcoming them inside. Deedra directed her attention to Destiny's stomach. She got down closer, rubbing her sisters stomach while she talked to the baby.
It didn't take long for Darnell and Trina to show up. The all sat around the table moments later, feasting on the well cooked meal; ribs, mash potatoes, corn and string beans with jasmine rice. "So, Kross." Trina cleared her throat, "Do you plan on moving my daughter out of this doll sized place before my grand baby is born?" She asked. "Mama!" Destiny exclaimed, looking at her mother embarrassed. That wasn't Trina's place at all. Maybe she did mean well— however, her deliverance was wrong.
"No. It's okay, babe." Kross responded, resting his fork at the edge of his plate. "No, it's not." Destiny shook her head, "Mama don't start nothing. You were disrespectful and shady making that comment about our home. Cross the line again and you'll be asked to leave." Destiny checked her mother on her behavior. Her siblings stayed shut while watching their mom get put in her rightful place. "If you must know, Destiny and I are thinking about purchasing a home before our child comes. I also plan on taking care of her, marrying her, being a damn good father and partner. I also make eight figures and handle my business. Anything else you'd like to know?"
Kross had Trina sitting at the other end of the table, mute. Destiny thought her mom had no right to diss anyone, especially her and Kross. She was the reason her Trina's mortgage was being paid on time. "Do you guys have baby names picked out?" Lani questioned, changing the topic of the conversation. "Not yet. We find out what we're having next week." Destiny disclosed, eager.
"Are you doing a gender reveal? I mean, you have to." Deedra insisted. Destiny chuckled, "No. I don't want one." She informed, breaking her sisters heart, but she'd be okay. "Kross and I, will find out the gender and the rest of you, will find out when he or she, gets here." Destiny told them, Trina not included. Destiny was slowly starting to get annoyed with her mother, once again. Trina's constant feeling entitled to everything and slick commentary was driving her daughter to her last and final straw.
